Is six weeks enough for Kitty Kelley's book to do some damage?
Her book about the Bush's is coming out September 14th. I read the teaser on Amazon.com and it includes the obligitory line, "This is the book that the Bush Family doesn't want you to read."

Between the release of the Farenheit 911 DVD and the book, I'd love to see the Bush crowd sweat it out a little more until November 2nd.

2. They will call it "trash" no matter how many facts are there
Republicans won't read it at all.....just like they refused to see Farenheit 9/11.

4. Why Does Kitty Kelly Hate America?
Their all-purpose pin headed Sean Hannity response to anyone who utters the truth.

15. Oh, yeah, they will, because people LOVE the trashy stories
and it's a lot easier to hide reading a trashy book IN YOUR HOME instead of hanging out in a movie line where you Might Be Seen (gasp!)

3. How much effect it has depends on the publicity it gets from the
media! Most of the other books were written by former Gove't people (O'Neil, Clarke etc.) so they got a lot of hype because of that. I don't know if they'll pay as much attention to one by Kitty Kelly?

7. If it's sensational, the media will pay attention. Larry King always
has her on. Since the source was the scorned wife of one of Bush's brothers, she should have a lot of dirt to dish.

6. does she have a credibility problem?
remember, some people went nuts when she wrote that Frank Sinatra was, ummm, doing Nancy Reagan. Dunno whether that was true or not, but you have to admit it presents a rather repellent image...

14. Came out of every trouble virtually unscathed. Even the "Royals" book
which had some disgusting visual images written about...and even the Queen Mother herself couldn't keep it from being published.

10. I can't wait I can't wait
I've had mine pre-ordered for months now and am swooning with anticipation as the release date approaches.

Kitty Kelley is an entertaining writer. She has a genius for seeing behind the masks public people erect. She must be enormously sympathetic, because people just love to pour their hearts out to her, and she always gets the goods. Public families have to hide their humanity; behind their manufactured facades there can be breathtaking disfunction and tragedy.

I have never found her to be nasty, or vindictive or seeming to have any axe to grind. She is simply fascinated with the complexities of human nature, and celebrates the roller coaster ride of life in the manner of an 18th c novelist. You might put down one of her books feeling a profound sympathy for its subject just as easily as being repulsed.

People will be drawn to read the book, especially when they find out the kind of illuminating stuff it contains. It will become a best seller because it will have been very well written and is enormously entertaining. While many people may not have the stomach to read political analysis or historical accounts, they might be interested in reading about personalities.

How it's going to effect the election: George always drags out his family when he's in trouble. People are not going to be able to look at "Bar" in any sympathetic way when they find out what a devouring b**** she is. and they will shudder when they see Pickles and know what she's hiding behind the frozen smile.

12. The Timing Might Be about Right. & She Has NO Credibility Problem
She's got a name, she delivers the goods. The goods are true. She's got a staff of researchers. She's got Larry KING. The arrogant cable whores can pretend to be "journalists" all they want, but they are infotainment, and Mz KELLEY can do it all. I've only read the Nancy book (Anne Frances ROBBINS), and it was deadly cool, no sentiment. I hope KELLEY tops it.
