I have talked to 3 ex-republicans this week.

One was a dorky younger repub, he seemed well meaning when I first met him at my voter registration table and I tried to talk sense to him and he half heartedly paid attention. I saw him on Thursday and he has miraculously changed his mind about voting for Bush. I have no idea what got to him but since he kept talking about Teddy Roosevelt being the Mister T of politics (his words, not mine) I think he may have come across some history that showed the Bushco for the totalitarian fascist they are. I could care less cause, he's not voting for Bush and that is all that matters.

The second was a delivery guy who saw Fahrenheit 9/11. That dude was pissed at Bush for the 7 minutes and, oh yeah, ALL THE LIES, he even totally agreed that Bush let 9/11 happen.

The last was a friend of mine from Fort Worth, Texas. In 2000, when I ragged on him for voting for Bush, he defended himself with the old small government/fiscal balance argument and kept saying he liked McCain more but was voting for the ass anyway. Jeff (my friend) is actually pretty cool. He's a writer and an English teacher, and hangs with a mostly lefty crowd these days. I saw him walking the other day and asked if he was still a repub. He said that he is an independent who is voting for Kerry. He is a Texas born and raised republican and he hates Bush. I just thanked him for having some brains.

So maybe 3 more votes for NOT BUSH doesn't mean much, but honestly if Bush is loosing support here that fucker is toast. The polls are shit. The press is trying to make it easier for Bush to steal it. Expect a 20 pt boost for the Crawford Coward after the RNC and then call every news organization and tell them how full of shit they are.

We can win this, we must win this, we WILL win this.

Lots of love to my fellow DUers

Melody
