Local cable station NY1 is reporting that massive groups are gathering and beginning the march. Reporters seem stunned by the numbers and diversity of the crowd.

Ariel shots show huge crowds. 10 block were set aside for the staging area but these were filled quickly and overflowing.

Michael Moore spoke to the crowd.

they were talking about POLITICAL protests (as opposed to a PEACE march) and they were talking only about NYC.

one more thing...

they are reporting 'concern' that marchers will NOT take the turn into Union Square and will continue on to Central Park.

lots of 'ominous' words about such 'splinter groups' would be harder to 'control' if this happens.
