FBI espionage probe goes beyond Israeli allegations, sources say
By Warren P. Strobel

Knight Ridder Newspapers

WASHINGTON - An FBI probe into the handling of highly classified material by Pentagon civilians is broader than previously reported, and goes well beyond allegations that a single mid-level analyst gave a top-secret Iran policy document to Israel, three sources familiar with the investigation said Saturday.

The probe, which has been going on for more than two years, also has focused on other civilians in the Secretary of Defense's office, said the sources, who spoke on condition they not be identified, but who have first-hand knowledge of the subject.

A few little fish will be fried so that the big fish can swim away.

5. You make an interesting point.....
And we know that there is no bureaucratic system --good, bad, or otherwise -- that will not gladly sacrifice one of its own, in order to stop a problem, and to gain a moment's peace to reorganize.

And we know that this collection of criminals --and that's exactly what they are -- have perfected the art of sacrifice in order to maintain control.

Yet we have options. As we learned from Watergate, a dogged pursuit of justice, which includes motivating a hard-to-motivate congress, can result in convictions and jail time for high-ranking government officials.

Spinoza wrote that "all noble things are as difficult as they are rare." Justice in our federal government is extremely rare. It will likewise be extremely difficult to engage in the dogged pursuit. But it's worth our effort
