The Gay Republican Who's Taking On Hilary Clinton
New York City) A Wall Street public relations executive, who worked for both Alfonse D'Amato and the late John Heinz in the U.S. Senate, is preparing to challenge Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton's 2006 re-election bid.

A major problem for Adam Brecht, however, is that major New York Republicans - not to mention rank-and-file voters - don't seem to have a clue who he is.

"I know nothing about this guy," said Bill McGahay, executive director of the state GOP.

Brecht hopes to remedy that lack of recognition by making the rounds this week at the Republican National Convention in New York City. The openly gay liberal Republican is also running a full-page ad in Hamptons magazine aimed at piquing the curiosity of the rich and famous who summer on the east end of Long Island.

I really do not like to use the term "hate". But damn! I hate Gay Republicans!

1. Gay republicans are totally clueless.
Republicans hate them. They are literally trying to make anti-gay part of their platform.

What the fuck do they not understand about that?

3. I don't understand why a gay person
Edited on Sun Aug-29-04 04:05 PM by Droopy
would choose to be a Republican. Republicans hate queer folk. I've heard people say it's greed, i.e. financial reasons. They see the Republican party as pro-business and the party of tax cuts I guess. But, c'mon. The Republican party has done everything thing they can to exclude gays short of getting on national tv and saying, "I hate gays and lesbians."

5. Please forgive me for what I am about to say (really crude)
I had a gay freeper tell me two months ago that I only suck @#$! on occasion, only when the need arises.

I am a non violent person, but that comment sent me to into oblivion! If thats what you think my life is all about you are sadly mistaken I said. He told me to get over it & go suck a @#$!.

Does this help with their mentality at all?

6. Damn
I guess ignorance is an equal opportunity type of deal. I think people like the fellow you encountered are actually self hating types. Not the type to take pride in who they are.

4. This is great! This will make the Freepers heads explode!
They despise Hillary, who basically espouses traditional American values, but as Republicans they will be forced to choose a known gay. Too funny!
