Guess what Born-Again Stephen Baldwin's New Gig Is?
The OH-SO-Christian "SCARE TACTICS". Yep, he's really found God.

(For those of you not in the know, "ST" is a reality show that has friends play practical jokes on people, often involving occult or horror situations such as having the unknowning victims being chased by serial killers. HA-HA! Oh so very funny and Christ-like.)

Stephen: "What I'm doing in relation to this election is faith-based. I believe in my heart that one of these candidates is somebody who has professed their faith in such a way. But I believe this individual will be the one that's truly going to utilize his relationship with God to hopefully make this country a better place."

4. I thought maybe he was joining Kirk Cameron in the "Left Behind" movies
There's not a whole lot else happening in the world of christian entertainment, beyond the release of "The Passion" on DVD, "Veggie Tales" and contemporary christian music.

5. But all you have to do is "profess your faith," apparently.
It doesn't matter how many people you play tricks on or get killed.

Ron Reagan reminded Baldwin that Kerry is Catholic and goes to Mass most Sundays. He practically did a church-lady "Well isn't that special..." It just wasn't good enough. Gotta PROFESS that faith, baby!!

6. Is that the crazy blond Baldwin
the dark haired Baldwin that hasn't done a movie since the 90's or the chubby Baldwin.

Why hasn't Bush utilized his relationship with God to make this country better already? He's had four years. God either really hates us, he really hates Bush or he has a really bad sense of humor.

8. The official guide to the Baldwin brothers...
'cuz it seems like there's a million of 'em!

http://students.washington.edu/eomoe/ultimate/baldwins/

snip
<Q and A:

Q: Why is everyone so obsessed about Baldwin Brothers?
A: Baldwin Brothers are the ultimate paradox. On the one hand they appear handsome and charming, but in reality, they're washed up drug addicts who play Dungeons and Dragons while mommy brings them Jelly sandwiches.

Q: I heard that Baldwin Brothers are always cruel or mean. What's their problem?
A: Whoever told you that is just jealous. Just like other people, Baldwin Brothers are only mean when they need a fix.

Q: What do Baldwin Brothers do when they're not making B movies or cutting up coke?
A: Most of their free time is spent with Regis and Kelly Ripa doing cheesy-ass interviews, or doing charity dinners to save washed up actors... (Ask their mom if you don't believe me.)>

13. Did anyone hear him on the Howard Stern show about a month ago?
Edited on Tue Aug-31-04 09:29 AM by GloriaSmith
It was extremely weird. Stern kept saying that there must be an angle...that SB is planning on getting something out of this (more than just the love for his religion). Turns out he's planning to build his own church or something weird like that. I think Stern is convinced that this is all for monetary gain.

The funniest part of that show though was when a woman called in and started yelling that fundamentalism is nothing more than an addiction. That SB is just trading one addiction for another, nothing more. I never thought of it that way before, but it makes sense.

15. they turn to religion to revive an otherwise dead or never was
career.
Case in point.
Willie Ames. Formally of Charles in Charge. I had the pleasure of working for this untalented boob several years ago.
While he was on Charlies in Charge. He was a big time partier. Coke, drinking, different woman on a daily basis.
Well the last few shows of the program he was written out because he was either jacked up, hung over, drunk or couldn't be found. So rather then go into rehab, he was SAVED!!! Sound like someone we all know and hate?
Fast forward to when I worked with him. I had the unfortunate opportunity to work on a show titled, "Bibleman". I'm not kidding. A guy I knew for years was producing it. I was a cameraman so I thought, I need the work and their money spends as well as the next guys.
While on the set I had a chance to talk to Willie. Seemed like a reasonable guy, until he went into the whole born again thing and his eyes would glaze over.
I suffered through the shoot. But on the last two days, things began to heat up between the guy I knew and Willie. Willie didn't like the direction the show was taking. Okay, so you are thinking what the hell direction could a show named "bibleman" take?
My acquaintance that was producing it, was, as I later found out, was also a born again, but he was a traditionalist. And Willie was more of a, I don't know, I reformist, I guess? Willie wanted Bibleman to have super powers. You know, like, x-ray smiting eyes or something. But my traditionalist friend, just wanted bible man to appear and read scripture. I have to admit, Willie's idea sounded better.
So on the last day, Willie walks on the set and tells my friend, he's fired and the show is closing down for retooling.
You could have heard a pin drop. Okay, so I still got paid and over the time I was there, Willie and I would chat from time to time. As I'm packing up my gear, Willie starts blathering on about how sorry he had to do to, blah blah blah. But then he said something rather telling.
"I hated to do it, but if I was a superhero just reading scripture, how is that going to revive my career?"
At that point, the suspicions I had all along proved right.
What's my point in all of this? There are real Christians and there are born agains. Every born again I have met has an agenda. Everyone.
Weeks later, my friend/acquittance cheated on his wife. He was also another born again, that had an addiction to sex (I later found out) and his wife, the one he cheated on, tried to save him. Oh he also had 4 kids. Hmmm, nothing like a good upstanding rightwing repuke.
Just thought I would relate this story with celebs, being born again, and their real motivations.
But like I said before, there are Christians and then there are born agains. There is a giant difference.
