Are the Republicans sure they bled enough to warrant recognition?

3. good pics - I sure hope the bandages backfire
And MoveOn wherever you are - we need a video showing what republicans REALLY think of veterans -- some laughing shitbags who never served a day in their lives wearing purple bandages, and then these folks.

12. Divine retribution would be those bandages would not only backfire....
Edited on Tue Aug-31-04 11:34 AM by justjones
but in the explosion take off an appendage of these hypocritical assholes who are denigrating those soldiers who have earned a purple heart in real combat....

I know, I know, it's evil of me to think this, but I can't help it. Seeing those assinine bandaids and then seeing the pictures of the veteran's of Iraq makes me really, really upset.

8. Can someone in NYC get one of these bandages? Here's why:
If they were "printed" in advance, then possibly the same company who does "private label" printed goods may be associated with Proctor & Gamble or Johnson & Johnson -- not a great political move.

Wouldn't that link be interesting? Also, I would just like to know who's doing it, and possibly so would their other customers.

So, whoever can get more info - let's take it from there.

21. Bob Dole = Hypocrite
Bob Dole, a guy who admitted that he received his first purple heart from a self-inflicted wound that kept him out of combat for a day.

:grr: just when you think they can't sink any lower...
of all the horrible things republicans have done...this bandaid thing has to be one the most vile and digusting.
how DARE these hypocrites talk about 'morality,' and claim to support the military. i try not to hate...but the ugliness of spirit on display at their convention just makes me furious...and sad.

15. And I object to that language
it does nothing to elevate the dialog or make points for OUR side. There's no reason to resort to sexism to slam a fellow Ohioan. This woman represents a lot of what's bad in the world, true, but there are plenty of ways to criticize and slam her without resorting to the kind of language that helps keep all women oppressed.

If she were African American, would you have called her the N word? If Jewish, would you have called her a kike? A wop if Italian? I think not.

17. I apologize
I shouldn't have said that, but I was so mad and didn't control my anger and it was wrong. It was just spouting off uncontrollably and that was the first word out.

sorry.

18. Thank you very much.
You have just put yourself among a very few and very select group of DU men: those who either wouldn't use a sexist term to desribe women they despise, and those who would apologize for it afterwards if they did.

I salute you. And thank you again.

Kerry has all his limbs. He doesn't look like this. It could be used against us as easily as for us.

23. I don't think that is what Chaska was doing
I think the point is that purple hearts aren't about how terrible the wound is, but that it was received in combat. I don't think there is a point to posting gruesome examples of war wounds that received purple hearts because the other side could just as easily point to them and say "See! Those are real wounds! THEY are the ones who deserve the PH, not Kerry!" I could be wrong, but I interpret Chaska's point to mean just that. Don't play into the "who's wounds are worthy" argument.

24. My Father returned from WWII and my Mother didn't recognize him.....
Malaria, Dysentery, Jungle Rot, and Severe Hemorrhoids. He never received a Purple Heart. Never mentioned it. But he carried to his grave the effects of the illnesses. China - Burma_- India.

These are heart-wrenching pictures. Bush ought to be forced to look at them day and night, especially while's he's vacationing while our young men & women are being massacred.

22. Okay. Sure. Fine. But did they bleed?
That seems to be what matters, doesn't it? Or maybe we should first determine their voter registration before we decide if they deserve the Purple Heart?

Those pictures are heart-wrenching, yet we have sub-human pieces of shit wearing band-aids with purple hearts on them. This is all just a big goddamn joke to these people, isn't it? I can only hope that one day they actually feel a measure of this pain. Maybe then they'll understand.

Thanks for posting this, Eloriel. It's a sobering reminder of what war REALLY entails.

Goddamn heartless, soulless, putrid, festering piles of dung.
