Pregnant Inmate Forced To Undergo Abortion To Be Eligible for Death Penalt
This is like 3 or 4 days old so it's not late breaking. But I didn't see anything when I searched. It's disturbing nonetheless.

Chinese prison officials have forced a pregnant inmate found guilty of transporting heroin to undergo an abortion so that she could be eligible for the death penalty, according to a report published on Wednesday, AFP/Yahoo! News reports.

Ma Weihua in January was arrested in Gansu province for transporting 56 ounces of heroin from Xinjiang province. Under China's criminal code, individuals convicted of trafficking that amount of heroin can be executed.

However, following Ma's arrest, prison doctors discovered during a routine physical exam that she was approximately seven weeks pregnant. Under Chinese law, pregnant women and people younger than age 18 cannot be executed.

1. Women should never be forced to get an abortion
That is not consistent with the pro-choice position on the issue.

3. Yep.
Forced abortion makes them anti-choice like the Repubs.

Though I think the anti-abortion Republicans would have a mental quandary over this one. They'd love to kill that woman yet on the other hand they care infinitely for that fetus.

4. Nasty, and weird. It's not like she is going to be pregnant forever--
why can't they wait 7 months, let her have the baby and give it to relatives, then execute her? I won't even address the issue of how barbaric it is to execute people for crimes like hers.

5. Yes, much better that an orphan be introduced into the world...
They are one of China's biggest exports to the west.....

The Woman is going to be executed remember - and not like US executed, 17 years from now, executed, like, before lunch...

I don't support the death penalty in anyway, nor do I support China, nor heroine....In fact I'm against everything but Matlock.

Where is operation Matlock?!?!?
