Geeze! Weather Forcasters missed Richmond, Va Weather Disaster!
ABC Reports the REAL DISASTER with weather forecasters wrong predictions about what took place in Richmond. HAVE YOU SEEN THE PHOTOS?

SUV's floated on top of small cars...floods that wiped out 20 Block of Downtown Richmond...closed I-95 and I-64, and the "weather forecasters" FAILED to PREDICT IT!

Cut backs to the Weather Forecasters...I believe this...living in "hurricane country" I know the Weather Channel has been "cut back" because the coverage has changed since Bush has been in office.

But, Bush believes as a "Born Again" in "Armaggedon." He even told Bob Woodward when asked about "how will historians remember you?" Bush replied: "We will all be dead then."

Woodward fixated on Bush's statement and has repeated it many times over and over..because he found it so "wierd" coming from a President (P-Resident, in this case)

So...our weather forecasters have been corrupted just like CNN/NPR/PBS/MSNBC/..and some of the Networks...What the HeLL are we supposed to do to protect our property and homes during the "Global Warming" and when will these folks ADMIT that our weather is totally weird, freako?

1. Sorry, but people don't mean much...there's a convention going on.
You must not be distracted by real life tragedies. Move on!

2. I will never forget...
I will never forget last night. I walked through water up to my waist to get home down the street I live on. Cars and Vans floating by. It took me 3 and a half hours to get from City Hall to Ginter Park. Whats your story? I have not gotten over this yet and still need to talk.

Edited on Tue Aug-31-04 06:14 PM by KoKo01
News of Repug Convention takes place over what happened in Florida, or what's happening to "MILLIONS" of folks across the USA with this BIZARRE WEATHER?

I've been on this planet long enough to notice WEATHER CHANGES...believe me ...OUR WEATHER HAS CHANGED!

Excuse me for shouting on this...but I had to ...because I hope some of you out there will know that THIS WEATHER...is TOTALLY BIZARRE....

Ask your "oldie DU'ers" who could tell you about what it was for years...when they grew up...down to now...

5. When did Shrub say this:
He even told Bob Woodward when asked about "how will historians remember you?" Bush replied: "We will all be dead then."

I never heard about it before.

Shrub is such a fucking idiot.

How does the president think history will judge him for going to war in Iraq?

“After the second interview with him on Dec. 11, we got up and walked over to one of the doors. There are all of these doors in the Oval Office that lead outside. And he had his hands in his pocket, and I just asked, ‘Well, how is history likely to judge your Iraq war,’” says Woodward.

“And he said, ‘History,’ and then he took his hands out of his pocket and kind of shrugged and extended his hands as if this is a way off. And then he said, ‘History, we don’t know. We’ll all be dead.’”

-------
this is almost at the very bottom of the page. I was watching the interview and almost fell down. Woodward did not have a very happy look on his face about this one.

* is a f-ing psychotic.

6. The storm was unbelievably violent, and it rained so hard and so
long that cars were indeed floating around like toys in Shockoe Bottom, a trendy restaurant/club/shop area downtown. We left work (downtown) at 4 PM and, after seeing the news at home, felt lucky to have gotten out in time. Many coworkers never got home -- half the roads were closed. As we drove into our neighborhood, we had to drive through washes of water going over the road from the deep culverts on each side of the road.

About 3 blocks away, in a low spot in the road that is flanked by a swampy area on one side and a lake on the other, some woman tried to drive through the water running over the road and ended up floating away into the lake. A county cop had to swim out, snatch her out of her car before it sank, and tow her in.

This morning, the Powhite Parkway, a major commuter road, was still closed in places. You could see bulldozers removing feet of mud and debris.

After talking to natives, I have found out that this is the worst flooding ever seen here.

8. We visited Shockoe Bottom a few years ago in Richmond, and had great
lunch at one of the restaurants in the "restored" part of downtown before going to the History Museum for a traveling show on Egyptian Treasures. We toured the "Mansion District" and checked out most of the "Historic District."

It's sad to see this mess there. But having gone through one major hurricane and two little hurricanes...I know how bad it can get...and don't wish "flood waters" and destruction on anyone here on DU...because it's too awful to live through...the cleanup...trying to find help to fix it..and the psycho stuff one goes through worrying if it will happen again..and how soon.

Some road were still closed this morning.
