"Imperial Hubris"...anyone read it?
Pretty eye-opening so far.

The most glaring point the author has made so far is, that while no one may have been able to predict 9/11 specifically (eh, whatever), they certainly had no plans IN CASE of a 9/11-scale attack for a massive retalitory strike.

By the time Rumsfeld, the DoD and Bush got it together a month later, al Queda had scattered to the four winds. A decapitation strike was out of the question.

We KNEW where al Queda was, and we KNEW they were planning a massive attack; why didn't we have a plan to counterattack straight away?

He's not too impressed.
