Did you earn a Purple Heart?
Then, let me thank you for your service and your sacrifice. My service was on nice cold safe northern-tier missile base. The demeaning of honorable service and injury is just the latest disgraceful chapter in an increasingly dishonorable culture.

I'm an individual and an American. I've never faced the terror of enemy fire. Measuring the size and trauma of a wound under battle conditions is the occupation of the cowardly and the ignorant. And, as an individual and as an American I'd like to thank you for your courage, your strength and your service to me, my family and my neighbors. I apologize for what you have had to see in the last 24 hours. That display of "purple heart bandages" was shameful.
