Forces: U.S. & Coalition/Casualties

There have been 1,112 coalition deaths, 981 Americans, 65 Britons, six Bulgarians, one Dane, two Dutch, one Estonian, one Hungarian, 19 Italians, one Latvian, 10 Poles, one Salvadoran, three Slovaks, 11 Spaniards, two Thai and eight Ukrainians, in the war in Iraq as of August 31, 2004 (Graphical breakdown of casualties). The list below is the names of the soldiers, Marines, airmen, sailors and Coast Guardsmen whose families have been notified of their deaths by each country's government. At least 6,690 U.S. troops have been wounded in action, according to the Pentagon. The Pentagon does not report the number of non-hostile wounded. This list is updated regularly.

3. I was stunned when I saw today's number
I just posted 977 yesterday. Someone posted that Michael Moore said the Republicans were on track for 1000 US Dead during their convention.

Anyone got a link to this quote?

12. please, let's not bother our beautiful minds during the convention
I heard Edwards saying today that there had been more deaths in Iraq in August than in July, and more in July than in August. Yet, ever since the June 30th handover, the media basically doesn't cover it. War? What war?

And speaking of not covering the news, notice that the Bryant trial turned out to be malarkey? How many bad news stories got covered over by a case that had sensationalism and racism but no merit?
