campaign signs being placed in colleges and universities?
my feeling is, as long as something's posted on a bulletin board, or other designated area, it's ok..... save for a few things, and campaign signs are one of them. free speech has to be protected. but there's a difference between posting something about your "2nd time born again virgins for bush/cheney" group on the bulletin board, and smearing your campaign feces all over the halls of a public institution.
i'm not exactly sure what school policy is on that, but that's my policy.
today as i was walking down the hall, i was met with a "bush/cheney" sign taped to the wall. started to piss me off, just mocking me there. i see no other such signs around school, yet, and never have.
so when i came back down the stairs later, i took that shit off the wall, folded it up, and put it in the trash where it belongs.
i wouldn't believe in kerry/edwards signs posted the same either, though i didn't see any of those. and bein' real here, i probably wouldn't tear one down if i did see it, though it would make me feel uneasy all the same 'cause i don't agree with it on principle...... come to think of it, i just might take it down, even though that'd make me feel even more uneasy, like an even worse emetic. just don't want to see the school littered with fucking campaign signage, don't think it's the proper venue.....
but i'm not surprised it was a bush/cheney sign, and not one for kerry/edwards...... republicans seem to have the proclivity to imagine they can paste their garbage wherever they like, and libruls shouldn't whine about it. and if they do, *they're* the ones with the problem (turn that around though, and you'll see some *real* whining).
well go fish it out of the trash can, bitches.
what do you think of that though duers?
