URGENT! Thousand Points of Hope Anti Bush Statement Thursday Night!

(From our NC Coordinator...a message for all DU'ers..for tomorrow when the Chimp speaks to America)

America Can Do Better: Thousand Points of Hope Event -Thursday September 2nd, 9 p.m. State Capitol Grounds, Raleigh

Across America, across the battleground states and across New York, we will hold America Can Do Better : 1000 Points of Hope events on Thursday, September 2nd, the evening that Bush speaks at the Republican Convention.

At 9:00 PM EST, we would like Americans across the nation to walk outside and hold up candles and flashlights and American flags in support of the brighter vision for America offered by John Kerry and John Edwards.

In each community and neighborhood, we are asking leaders to organize their own 1,000 points of lights. These can be as big as thousands of people gathered at the State Capitol in a key battleground state to one person on their front porch in rural Kansas.

Using our political, press, and field desks, our strong coordinated campaigns in each state, our massive DNC and Kerry-Edwards email lists, our allies, and our supporters; we believe we can produce thousands of points of hope across the country in an amazing demonstration to the media and to the world that we believe in a brighter, better America than the one given to us by Bush.

Please plan to attend and please pass on this email to family and friends.

4. Was my first reaction too :o(
and waving a flag only, might make others think I'm a republican (sad, but true in this current climate)

3. Why not combine it with the Great American Shoutout?

5. For those in other time zones you could print flyers with Bush/Kerry and
put them on cars in WalMart/Target/or whatever shopping centers. Put them under the windshield wipers of cars...go do a neighborhood canvass where you put Bush/Kerry Flyers on folks doorsteps or doors spreading the message.

It's a national Democratic Day of Protest. There are other ways to do this..but it's good to know that ALL of US will be doing something to PROTEST BUSH SPEECH tomorrow night.

There are lots of things to do...but printed flyers...even if it's only a few, in the right spots means that someone had to see them.

Just Do It!
