Dean on "The Closing Bell" today: just a few clips.
http://moneycentral.msn.com/Content/CNBCTV/TV_Info/closingbell.asp

Just got in and no time to start taping, but here are some snips heard as I came in.

Interviewer asks Dean, "How tired are you of seeing the scream clip?" Dean says, "Run it as much as you want...it's fun."

Maria said 2% are paying the taxes, Dean said he'll take the 98%* and those are the ones who'll win the election.

Dean....we're gonna kick these guys' BUTTS in November...I'll tell you that right now!"

Dean: "George Bush has adopted Kerry's position on Iraq".

About the convention...they came across as just mean, and liars. Dean says this is emblematic of what the Republican party is like now.

1. I like Dean!!!
I have to admit, I didn't pay much attention to the primaries -- I haven't voted since 1980 & only knew I was any one but bush. But the more I hear Dean speak, the more I like him. He's tough, forthright & I get a good feeling about him. He was on McEnroe one night & my husband said, "He should be running for prez."

2. Yeah, me too
and I suspect that my republican father does too. My father admitted that bush was a lightweight just before he voted for him.

3. Dam!
You people leave me weak and weary. Where were you? He did run for President. He will be our President some day, and I doubt he will run as a Democrat. I can't wait!

4. Sorry to say, I'm one of the many
complacent & complicit non-voters who has been harshly snapped back to reality by the realization that my vote DOES make a difference! And yes, I knew he ran for prez, but at that point I didn't care who got the dem nomination -- just knew that I would vote anyone but bush.

That may be the one good thing that bush has done -- awakened many, many sleeping people to the fact that we can't sit on our duffs, deluding ourselves that all the candidates are all the same.

6. Dean is not leaving the democratic party
I think he is a very loyal democrat. Otherwise he would not be spending so much time and effort into reforming it.

8. We are not leaving, just changing the party into what it should be.

5. I met Howard 2 days ago.....
albeit briefly, he was at the tv station I work at to do an interview. Nice guy! Did an on-air thing during the morning show and then said he had about 30 minutes extra time if we wanted to do a one-on-one with him. We scrambled and got a reporter and camera and did a quick thing.
When I shook his hand, he had his trademark smile lit up and was very personable (and short, I was kind of surprised, being height challenged myself).
Unfortunately I was too busy to engage him in a quick conversation, but I got the feeling that it would have been nothing to have a really good chat with the him as easily as meeting an old friend on the street.

7. That's Howard
A very dynamic presence. Some people are immovable objects. Some are irresistable forces. Howard Dean manages to be both.
