Canon for the lens '..dont have a smaller one but any of the Canon should be ok. type camera reviews into a search engire and you will find plenty of sites giving good info

I like the Canons for the reason you mentioned. I bought a consumer camcorder - ZR70 MiniDV for my trip to Brazil last year, but I want a decent still camera. What model Canon do you use? I'm also shopping for my dad (long time Leica user) who wants a a professoional or semi-professional digital camera - he also likes the Canons.
