Where is Walt Starr for the answer to my question
Or maybe someone else can answer this. First, I have no doubt that Bush will do and/or say anything to get elected or what he wants. He's unfit to lead this wonderful country.

That said...where would Bush have gotten a medal that he was wearing in the photograph? I had never thought about this, but my husband brought that up. When was the picture made? I've forgotten... :-( and when was that medal given for the first time and the second time?...Is it still being given?

Do you have the link(s) that give all this info that I've missed or forgotten? Thanks.

2. Base PX, a surplus store, today you can order one from the internet
Pciture was taken some time between November 26, 1969 and November 7, 1970.

First award was for the period from February 1, 1965 to March 31, 1966. Second award was for October 1, 1973 to September 31, 1975.

The AFOUA is always awarded after the time period covered, so first award was given in 1966, two years before Bush joined. Second award was given in late 1975, two years after Bush was out and five years after the photo was taken.

8. About that "good attendance" medal Bush should have won
for five years of satisfactory service: Would he have still qualified for it despite his transfer to Alabama? Was he considered "out" of the Texas unit when he transferred? And has his honorable discharge papers been released?

edit: OK, I know they didn't have eBay back then, but the point is that there are plenty of people willing to get rid of medals. Flea markets often have them.
