College football weekend in freeper hell forthcoming
Edited on Fri Sep-03-04 08:43 AM by Can o Beans
GUYS,

I have to go to Norman OK for a football game this weekend, which will be spent with 40 of my freeper in-laws. They are sure to quiz me on why I would "doo sumpin ignurt like vote for John Kerry."

I have decided that I have to keep it simple, since it will be 1 v. 23 at any given moment, so I have decided my mantra will be "I just can't trust Bush to tell me the truth about anything. Kerry may be hard to understand sometimes, but at least he is NOT A LIAR."

Problem: I need a rapid fire list of EASY to understand Bush lies, that most people know at least a little about, and that are hard to dispute. Obviously I will hit the 23 reasons for entering Iraq long and hard. I will also note that he lied about funding No Child, since most every child in Oklahoma has been left behind.

But can I get a little help with a few short, simple others? I REALLY REALLY appreciate it. The simpler and easier to understand for these people, the better.

Thanks!

CAN (edited for spelling)

1. If they say something stupid, make THEM prove their claim
Don't just sit back and play defense. Put them on the defensive.

2. Lied about how much the Medicare drug program would cost
Lied to Congress about the costs and illegally prevented the Medicare actuary from telling Congressmen the truth about how costly the program will be.

Also, since the Medicare drug program is not as advertised, remind your older relatives how confusing it is for them to get medication, and how Bush's incredibly expensive new program - a handout to pharmaceutical companies - has just made it more complicated.

7. That's great - thanks...
I know that their answer will be "those old losers should have been smart enough to save mony for retirement", but I can work this one a little...

4. Tell them that the 9/11 terrorists had nothing to do with Iraq
and watch their heads spin.

Tell them that the 9/11 terrorists were all from Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and other countries that Bush has business dealings with.

6. If it's any consolation to you...
My dad and I will be in the stadium and there's no chance in hell that either of us will be voting for Bush* this year. So, you have at least a little company.

BOOMER SOONER!!!

10. It's not really so much the lies,
but my 'mantra' lately has been this;

Bush has been blaming all of his problems on Bill Clinton and Osama Bin Laden. It has been 3+ years. When is he going to start taking responsibility for the poor unemployment situation, worse wages, more poverty, less people with insurance, huge deficit, or ANYTHING ELSE.

If Bush cannot overcome the work of Clinton and Bin Laden in three years, what would make us think he should have four more? Are those guys THAT much more powerful than Bush?
