How Do Terrorists Directly Threaten Our Freedom?
I don't get it. I know that terrorists, both Muslim foreign (al Qeada) and Christian Domestic (Tim McViegh) threaten my safety, but what's with this freedom thing.

How can 19 hijackers, or 3,000 terrorists occupy this country and change our form of government from free and democratic, to a theocracy the suppresses individual rights.

I believe only my government can do that to me. Losing my freedom is much more threatening by the people in power now than any terrorist threat, regardless of how real or imminent.

Benjamin Franklin's quote would be appropriate here..."A people that are willing to trade their freedom for their safety, deserve neither."

1. My questions exactly
For the life of me, I cannot figure out why the news media aren't asking these questions, either.

2. Easy. Terrorists talk to God
who in turn, talks to Borscht, who in turn destroys his own country through reprehensible and irresponsible policies.

It's ironic that the people curtailing freedom and putting us into "free speech zones" while abrogatng our liberty protected in the Constitution uses this "terrorists can't take our Freedom" ploy.

5. I share some of that
and I don't understand how killing Afganistan people, especially civilians, is "defending our freedom" I don't understand how an invasion of Iraq, a country with no military to speak of, no air force, no navy and done with lies to the American people, is "defending our freedom" I don't understand either how a doctrine of pre-emption against small countries who pose no threat, or a doctrine of world domination, is "defending our freedom" Yet I hear it over and over especially from military people, but from ditto heads also.
