Delegates called the first lady elegant.

"I think Laura Bush is the most elegant first lady we've ever had," said Trudi Dickert, a delegate from Virginia. "She is ... a Southern lady in many ways. She knows her place."

That says it all! "She knows her Place."

1. They may not like to admit it, but the root of Hillary hate is misogyny.
Because she didn't "know her place".

5. That's right
She's an 'uppity WO-man'...Ain't it awesome?!

You think the upshot is that women who 'don't know their place' are always more capable of putting men in theirs?

4. I hate that phrase - knows her place.
How is it that we live in the greatest country in the world and women here are expected to keep their mouths shut and smile?

bush and co tell us about how women in Iraq and Afghanistan are free to go to work, school and to vote. They tell us they want a secular gov't in these countries.

Here in America, their wives "know their places" as outlined in the Bible. bush and co. have co-opted religion to force their agendas on the rest of us.

But you know what, if Laura is happy sitting their with her smile on, good for her. I can only hope her daughters do better.

7. I hate that phrase
I really hate that phrase because of its historical connotations. Minorites and women have historical been judged on whether or not they "knew their place," which is usually under somebody else's control. It is so freaking retrograde. Bush & Co keep building that bridge back to the 18th Century.

8. That's what they want for American women too
They want us to go to work...at a menial "woman's" job that doesn't threaten them; to to school so we can help the kids with their homework; and vote as they tell us to do. These are Old White Men frightened of educated, independent women. And the Republican party is the epicenter of the movement.

6. She knows her Place? Crawford Texas? She'll be there pretty soon
I hope she is already packing. The Kerry's don't want any of their junk left behind when they move into the White House.

9. Nobody, but nobody better ever say that to me.
My place is where I want to be, not where someone thinks I should be. That attitude went out with the caveman. How ignorant. That really p*sses me off.

And that's anywhere she damn well feels like it!

12. Oh, please.
:puke: :puke: :puke: :puke: :puke:

I don't buy the "Nice Laura" propaganda anymore. Laura Bush thinks the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth ads are fair. A nice woman wouldn't have said that.
