I know Ariana Huffington in on our side but...
... why can't she just shut the fuck up!

She is so fucking annoying. I'm watching Bill Maher and she is on and every damn topic she always brings up the lamest talking points an applause lines. Lame talking points and annoying chatter aren't going to sway anybody.

Some tell her to shut the fuck up.

1. Huh?
Lame talking points and annoying chatter aren't going to sway anybody? Tell that to Karl Rove.

2. I'm thinking green acres, fur coat, daahling.
I have never forgiven her how shitty she used to be before her transformation.

4. I'm with you.
I too am not all embracing of the transformation of Arianna, but I do hope she sticks more to the left than right. I still think she's a conservative, but I believe that she really did have an epiphany about the fascist take over of the GOP. The Greeks really suffered tremendously under the Nazis and I don't think even the most conservative of them would knowingly accept their ideology.

She's a liberal. Her transformation is real.

3. That's Arianna. She was three times as annoying when
she was trashing Clinton over the Lewinsky/impeachment thing. She's not on our side incidentally, but she has stopped being on THEIR side, which helps because she is a smart cookie.

5. I thought she was great on Bill Maher's show. She is very smart and
I'm just glad that she's against Bush&Co, though I wouldn't say that she is on "our side."

8. Jason Alexander did a hell of a lot better than she did...
... He was actually capable of stopping Sullivan in his tracks. Adriana got rolled over because she tries to argue with applause lines.

9. I agree with you there
Jason Alexander also had me laughing while performing a great, off the cuff, Sullivan smackdown. :D

11. The Dems need to send out people
to the talk shows who have heavy, loud voices. Some women have voices that carry good, but they need men with voices like Carville. Ones you can hear when two people are talking at once. Ones that drown out the Repub without much trouble.

Too many times I've seen the Dem voice get overwhelmed by the Repug.

14. Yeah....It's pretty tough to drown out Carville.
BTW...He sent out a "Pep Rally" letter late last month..... Released on DNC official stationery.

Carville once said "If I ever head a presidential campaign again, the focus would be on me, instead of the candidate...And neither of us would want that".

I think he's now a ghost writer of this campaign.
Expect a change in tone.

10. Oh SHUT UP, LostInAnomie!!! She was the best one on OUR side tonite
Edited on Sat Sep-04-04 02:01 AM by loudsue
Bill Maher just PHUCKING CRUCIFIED Kerry!!! I had young new voters watching that show with me, thinking that Maher usually comes through with REALLY GOOD REASONS to get rid of bush. Neither of these folks watching with me tonite have voted before, and I've been trying to INFORM them about what's really happening in the world.

FINALLY, I get them to watch a politically charged debate, and what do they come away with??? Was it Bill Maher's hard-charging bush-bashing routine?

But NO, HELL NO!!! He slimed, not only for bush, but for the phucking bush TWINS performance at the RNC!! He thought the RNC convention was GREAT!!????? Which phucking channel was he watching?? The repuke convention was the MOST BORING, least exciting, most bigoted, fear-mongering, lying NOISE I ever heard!! It was AAAWWWWWFFFFUUUULLLLLL!!

And Maher was singing the republican tune. PHUCKING ASSHOLE!!!

Huffington was the ONLY ONE THAT WAS REALLY ON OUR SIDE!!!

How in the HELL can anybody in their right mind think that Kerry isn't doing a good job!!

Didn't anybody see Kerry after the RNC last night??? Doesn't anybody PHUCKING LISTEN to his speeches??? His positions are clear as crystal on where he stands! About Iraq, about the war on terror, about the economy....about every single issue!!!

Then, even here on DU, all I'm hearing is Kerry bashing!!!! Whining that he's not doing a good job. I MAY AS WELL LISTEN TO FOX NEWS than come on DU these days!!!

Get me off this goddamned planet! There are a bunch of IDIOTS inhabiting this place!!!!

12. The problem with Kerry's positions is that they are not clear...
... to the uninformed voter. That is the big problem.

Nuance doesn't play well on TV. Kerry can't put his positions in short little sound bites and catch phrases like * does. The average uninformed voter loses interest by the time his point comes across.

13. I happen to love her
I didn't see her on Maher tonight b/c I don't have HBO but I am halfway though her book "Fanatics and Fools: The gameplan for winning back America" and I recommend it for a good quick read.

Incidentally, I most appreciate her opening, which talks about why she left the Repukes.

15. Not a fan, but she was the best in the bunch. Alexander drooling after W
and comparing him to Truman - "what you see is what you get" and Sullivan's Who's your Daddy", she was the one making SOME sense. (PS I will never forget her candidacy during the recall)

16. Arianna's okay in my book...
She can get to the core of an issue when others are fiddling around the periphery.

She's okay.
