remember? remember how the tragedy 'brought us all together' and in our grief made us unified? remember that? that's one of the famous 'lessons of 9-11' bush keeps reminding us of. as if we needed to be reminded about 9-11, it's all the repubs have to run on. 'gee, we sure were behind the president' and 'gosh, the whole world loved us in our time of crisis' etc. good times...yeah.
that's what they are trying to sell us. the warm fuzzy tug at the strings of your heart patriotism born through collective grief. remember how churchillian bush behaved after the carnage? remember how he 'took charge' and how he yelled through a megaphone? that was marvelous alright.
but there is a point here, 9-11 was so horrible that many of us have deliberately put the memory of it on the back burner and left it to age on it's own. we'd rather not remember the horror and death and feeling of hopelessness, and we'd rather not reason why we were attacked in the first place.
but bushkkko will remind us, again and again that 9-11 is the pivotal moment for america's future as an imperialist megapower. like yelling 'remember the alamo', bush's only battle cry is 'remember the lessons of 9-11'. and bushkkko will TWIST the truth about 9-11 until it's a whole new truth. they are very good at that, taking a blatant lie and repeating it and repeating it until half the morons believe it.
and, i'm truly afraid that it worked out so well for them, that they just can't resist DOING IT AGAIN. that's right, doing it again. then, we can walk down memory lane again, and feel the terror and horror again, and feel sorry for ourselves again and play victim again. then, just like programmed robots, we'll cheer at bush's phony speeches, back up his monstrous policies and go about our business of being a fat, happy herd.
oh how i long for the good ol days following the 9-11 attacks. america was so focused then, patriotism swelled again, and sympathies came in from all over the globe. the world felt our pain, and we weeped and wailed and went on. those were the days.
