A beautiful thing!
I drive about 30 miles to and from work each day, commuting into Nashville and then returning home to my apartment about 10 miles south of the Kentucky border.

To be honest, I haven't been seeing that many political stickers yet. But I do a mental count as I drive to and from work. Usually, I see anywhere from 4 to 5 Bush stickers for each Kerry sticker (although the majority of them are those non-descript "W" stickers).

However, for the past two days, I've seen more Kerry stickers than I've seen Bush/W stickers. And I'm starting to see more Kerry stickers in my small rural town. I know this is totally unscientific, but it made me feel so good that I had to share it with you guys.

1. I was in Nashville last week
And I noticed that once you get closer to the city, the bumper sticker count definitely gets more competitive. I saw more Bush stickers on the road, but more Kerry/Edwards yard signs once I got off the freeway (in neighborhoods near downtown). Tennessee is definitely winnable.

3. I look for Subaru Outbacks...
They almost always have some liberal bumpersticker slapped on the back. Yesterday I saw one that said, 'Save America. Defeat Bush.' I've only seen 2 Bush/Cheney bumperstickers so far this year, both on the back of junk heaps. I've seen quite a few Kerry bumperstickers in the past couple of weeks. I've also seen quite a few rabid anti-Bush bumperstickers here in Salt Lake.

While walking my dog, I was dismayed to see that my landlords had put up a Bush/Cheney yard sign, the only one in my entire neighborhood. They tried to put a 'pub yard sign up in the yard a couple years ago (didn't find out it was them until later) but my next door neighbor and I immediately pulled it up and I re-papered it and used it for the peace marches. If I see a Bush/Cheney sign pop up in the yard, I'm afraid I might lose it and start beating it with the shovel, in prominent view of my neighbors, who think I'm some kind of saint because I shoveled their walk after a snow storm last year and helped patch up an elderly lady a few streets up after she had fallen (word gets around in my Mormon neighborhood). Better not happen.

4. Bumper Stickers are not a good indicator

It only proves who is motivated, not who will vote for who.

Dems will go to the polls with more heart and passion than Repukes this November, but more of "them" may actually vote.

I still say Kerry will win this, but we are injured right now.
