You mentioned parenthetically that (forget the exact words) -- but that fascism had to be defeated by external forces. Was that your own comment, or did one of these authors say or allude to that?

Thanks for these schedules. I definitely want to see this -- a lot of my heroes on one stage, speaking the truth. Ah, be still my heart.

8. That was my own comment. I later realized after I wrote it that it was

unclear. Krugman mentions that his next book will be on the rise of the right that began with Goldwater. He seems deeply concerned, and perhaps pessimistic, about the direction our nation is moving in. It occurred to me that European fascism was not able to be defeated by the citizens of those countries--it took the Allies to do that. It's downright scary to think about where our nation might be headed and if we will be able to stop it.

Watched most of it earlier this afternoon and will watch it again. This is like real journalists and authors speaking exactly like everyone here does, only in a public forum at NYU.
