Today's MTP: Gingrich Confirms War and more War About Oil
This morning on "Meet the Press," Newt Gringrich responded to Pat Buchannan's assessment about bin Laden's jihad against the U.S. as having to do with our presence in sacred places (Saudi Arabia) and our support for the Likud Party of Sharon and not "they hate us for our freedoms" by stating that our oil supply had to be "protected."

Gingrich revealed himself as a rabid PNAC sponsor and did indeed present oil as a major factor in "spreading democracy in the Middle East."

The coming election is about what kind of America we are to be. Will we invest in technology toward a civilization based on new sources of energy and as a result free ourselves of our dependence on oil; or will we continue to spend money on weapons and spill more blood toward an imperialistic ambition to control the oil and protect our current petroleum-based culture?

3. Gingrich exposing himself on a non-cable show? They must be
feeling like masters of the universe these days. It's great he did this out in the open where more people will see it.

4. He brought with him a big lie to the network airwaves
~"the existance of Saddm's 12 bio labs HAS BEEN CONFIRMED"

Really Newt? Where did you get that "factoid" from? Oh I see you brought that talking point with you to get it into the discussion.

5. Yes!
I wondered about that, too. That's first I had heard for finding 12 labs in Iraq. It WAS a blatant and unchallenged LIE.

10. Just like the daily howler says.......
No lies on his show are ever challenged. He lets them dissemble all they want. Newt went on a rant about Iraq's supposed links to terrorism and WMD, points that have been refuted over and over again, but what does Russert do? He ends Newt's rant with a question on a completely different topic. That is the MO. That is why the country is so ignorant. We don't have a press who really cares about the truth. Now why is that? Laziness? Ineptness? Corruption? Well, maybe all three of those things.

6. Not only do they feel like masters of the universe, they are
getting encouragement from the masses (who love their SUVs) to act like masters of the universe. The masses just love to worship at the feet of manly men -- that's why Arnold is so popular and everyone turns a blind eye to his sexist groping.

8. I'm waiting (and praying) for Kerry to pound all these guys to pud,
Edited on Sun Sep-05-04 10:39 AM by jean
preferably asap. I keep hearing how he's a good closer - but the anxiety I'm feeling mounts each day. Is he letting them string themselves out and expose all the garbage against him before obliterating them?

I try to keep the faith (and not be scared) that Kerry IS the manly men among all these creeps, grope included, and WILL dominate them all. That is a core belief. Just, PLEASE, John, do it sooner than later.

By the way, regarding grope and manliness - I believe Kerry could kick grope's butt in any sport except weight lifting. So there.

edited for correction

9. Unfortunately, that sexist groping stuff is PART of that manly master
of the universe schtick to many more feeble observers. Mr. Virility. He's got enough testosterone for ALL of us, doesn't he? Go Arnold!

If people like the kick-butt types, where are OUR kick-butt types? Let me guess - Donna Brazile.

No wonder we lose.
