two president bush's, two fuck ups. the whole stain left by daddybush's failed war in the gulf was his inability to 'get' saddam. well, jr. took care of that little oversight by god, and then he swore he'd git osama dead or alive. failure begets failure, just as bush begets bush.

some suspected that daddybush 'let' saddam go home unscathed back in the gulf war for some shadowy political reason. many now suspect the same about jr.'s impotent boast about capturing osama, who supposedly fell the twin towers. jr.'s 'capture' of saddam was one of his big bragging points because of his total failure at getting osama. saddam became the guy who fell the twin towers, replacing osama in the lexicon of batman badguys.

weather or not bush gets osama dead or alive before november, he will still use osama for all the political weight he's worth. if he magically appears behind bars, or in a morgue, or never at all, bush will still use the image of the world's favorite boogy man to fool his followers. 'osama is still out there, and we are still at war against al qaeda'. or some such shit.

3 years after osama supposedly attacked new york city and the pentagon, and the culprit is still at large. his name WASN'T EVEN MENTIONED ONCE at the convention. how does this represent steady, decisive leadership? how does this translate into making america safer from another osama attack? how can anyone still support bush after this monumental failure? surely if al gore had done the same, he'd have been hung from a tree by now.

how does this GLARING failure get overlooked and utterly forgotten?
only manipulation of the mass media on a grand scale, hitler style, could've made this mesmerism possible. a press, no longer free, but totally controlled by the white house. that's how.

we went from 'we're gonna git osama, dead or alive', to, 'vote for me, only i can protect you from terrorism'.

and the saddest most depressing part of course, is that it's working.
