Karen Kwiatkowski was an Air Force lieutenant colonel who served in the Pentagon’s Near East and South Asia unit in the year before the invasion of Iraq. She worked for the person who also headed up the Office of Special Plans, which cooked up the intelligence to send the country to war with Iraq. Now retired, she writes a bi-weekly column on defense issues with a libertarian perspective for militaryweek.com

In December, she told Amy Goodman of Democracy Now, regarding the Office of Special Plans, the VP's office, Doug Feith, and Paul Wolfowitz:

"If these people had used only the intelligence in honest form as it had been provided to them by the intelligence agencies, they could have never ever justified this war to the American people. Knowing this, they decided to produce some stuff that WILL convince the American people. And that's what I saw them doing."
