I thought I heard that 60 minutes was going to tear shrub a new one
I've read on DU over the past week that 60 minutes on CBS had the howitzer loaded, and that they were going to make Chimpy's life miserable with their blockbuster report.

It may have had something to do with the new Kitty Kelly book.

I thought it had something to do with the old White House page story, and some bizarre allegations about Poppy Bush having a little Micheal Jackson in him.

Or, it may have been about W and his alleged boyfriend in Tennessee.

Or, maybe it's that he's back drinking again and his wife smokes like Morton Downey.

So what's the story?

Tonight, the lead story is about PORN in the United States.

Wednesday nights show is profiling Robert Duvall.

What gives?

1. Patience.
It's not tonight. It never was tonight. I think it's next Sunday. But maybe not.

6. See now that's beautiful..
As CBS is airing 60 minutes, and the nation is sitting in front of their TV's gasping at some of the allegations, I will be at Invesco field in Denver for the Sunday Night football game broadcast nationally on ESPN.

BUSH, and the Chiefs, are getting lit up this night, and I for one could not be happier!

There is a GOD.

Thanks for the tip.
DVR alert.

3. Next Sunday They Will Have A Story About Bush Getting Into The N. Guard
Ben Barnes is the guy who claims he got Bush along with other "important" people into the National Guard as favors. From what I've heard it's supposed to be on 60 Minutes next week.

Ben Barnes to break silence on "60 Minutes"
The Republican campaign gets ready for shock waves, as the former Texas official who says he pulled strings to get George W. Bush into the Air National Guard finally goes public.

By Eric Boehlert

Sept. 1, 2004 | The campaign battle over Vietnam War records is still raging, but President Bush may soon be the one answering uncomfortable questions about his past service. Ben Barnes, the former lieutenant governor of Texas, will finally break his silence and talk to the press about what role he played in helping Bush get a coveted slot in the Texas Air National Guard in 1968. Sources say Barnes has already sat down for a "60 Minutes" interview that will air next week. A "60 Minutes" spokesperson declined to comment, saying the program does not discuss reports that are in progress.

Barnes made headlines last week when his videotaped comments that he was "very ashamed" of getting Bush into the National Guard began circulating on the Web. He said the remorse was prompted by a recent visit to the Vietnam War Memorial in Washington, where he saw the names of thousands of other young men who did not enjoy the connections of the Bush family. Barnes made his comments in May and the video was posted on a pro-Kerry Web site in June, but word of it only began to spread widely last Friday.

8. This guy got HUGE GAMBLING CONCESSIONS in Texas and Great Britain
in exchange for getting Bush out of Vietnam.

This is huge and the guy probably made billions -- so why is he coming forward NOW?

I do NOT have a clue but I like it.

12. Some people really do have a change of heart ...

Some people really do have a change of heart about there life. Besides, if the guy is a billionaire already, there is very little that Bush can do to harm him (as long as he's content with his billions).

9. Wishful thinking. CBS says otherwise

http://www.cbsnews.com/sections/60II/main3475.shtml

Nothing about Barnes and all about The 'Texas Miracle'.
It's a shot at Texas schools so it's close but no cigar.

13. Horseshit. The CBS blurb was obviously written well in advance of the blog
entry. I don't trust some six-post chump to steer me straight.

15. It's right from CBS website
I'd think CBS would have a better idea than a blogger. I don't trust a 1k+ potty mouthed chump to be able to figure that out.

10. I thought the story about the porn industry was quite stimulating...
Edited on Sun Sep-05-04 09:08 PM by edbermac
In an intellectual sense of course...

It also mentions that over ten billion dollars worth of porn is rented/bought every year...I wonder how much of a cut Phil Gramm gets out of that...I also wonder what percentage of porn is rented by the neocons...though I'm sure a lot of that type of porn involves farm animals...

14. To the true believers of Bush all these sleazy details about his
draft dodging and his father's pedophilia and his wife's "indiscretions" will be added reasons to circle their wagons around him. He has managed to convince them that he is their champion and all these mudslingings are meant to deny them(and not just Bush) the rightful seat on the throne that God intended for them.
