A Guy I Know Challenges My Anti W Slogan, Want to help with a response??
Edited on Mon Sep-06-04 06:00 PM by WLKjr
"Four more years of what???"

This is the email I got:

It's hard to tell where to start with the many inaccuracies and misconseptions within that page.

First, current economy status - Clinton, media, stupidity. Mostly Clinton though.

Poverty, Poverty? In this country, almost 80% of people living in poverty have at least two cars. between 60 and 70% have a vcr and color tv. at least half have DVD players. The majority have at least one car. Need I go on? - our definition of poverty is hundreds of times higeher that that of wealth in most nations.

While democrats mention jobs lost, the compoind stats, don't take into acount many variables (including temporary seasional and global issues) and completly ignore the record-setting job returns thanks to bush policy.

Oh, and he did double education spending.

But I blabber on, so I'll stop here for now.

And as for 4 more years of what, if you would like a long list, let me know.

-rhe Rev.

I am so going to send an ENORMOUS EMAIL BACK TO THIS FUCKING BUSHBOT, anyone want to contribute links, Facts to my soon to be huge couple of mb email?

2. What a waste of bandwidth
Just send him a polite "go fuck yourself" and save yourself the effort. There is NO talking to these people, NO pursuading, NO educating. Spend the time you'd spend on your email and use it to do phone banking for the local Democratic Party.

Some people just don't get it.

8. Here's more.
Edited on Mon Sep-06-04 06:44 PM by in_cog_ni_to
Accomplishments of President George W. Bush:

I spent the U.S. surplus and effectively bankrupted the U.S. Treasury.

I shattered the record for the largest annual deficit in U.S. history.

I set an economic record for most private bankruptcies filed in any
12-month
period.

I set the all-time record for the biggest drop in the history of the U.S.
stock market.

I am the first president in U.S. history to enter office with a criminal
record.

I set the all-time record for most days on vacation in any one year
period.

After taking-off the entire month of August 2001, I then presided over the
worst security failure in U.S. history.

I attacked and overtook two countries, promised to rebuild them and have
not
yet done so.

I am supporting development of a "Tactical Bunker Buster" nuke, a WMD.

I am getting our troops killed, under the lie of WMD components, then
blaming the lie on our British friends and the CIA, where, coincidentally,
my daddy used to lead.

I set the record for most campaign fund-raising trips by a U.S. president.

In my first year in office over 2-million Americans lost their jobs and
that
trend continues every month, leaving us in higher than ever unemployment.

I set the all-time record for most foreclosures in a 12-month period.

I appointed more convicted criminals to administration than any president
in
U.S. history.

I set the record for least amount of press conferences than any president
since the advent of television.

I signed more laws and executive orders effectively amending or ignoring
the
Constitution than any president in history.

I presided over the biggest energy crisis in U.S. history and refused to
intervene when corruption involving the oil industry was revealed.

I presided over the highest gasoline prices in U.S. history and refused to
use national reserves as past presidents have done.

I have cut health care benefits for war veterans and support a cut in duty
benefits for active duty troops and their families -- in war time.

I allowed non-compete oil contracts to go to my VP's company (where he is
still employed, but on "deferred compensation") and won't answer to anyone
about it.

I have set the all-time record for most people worldwide to simultaneously
protest me in public venues (15 million people) shattering the record for
protest against any person in the history of humankind.

I've dissolved more international treaties than any president in U.S.
history.

I've made my presidency the most secretive and unaccountable of any in
U.S.
history.

I'm proud that the members of my cabinet are the richest of any
administration in U.S. history. My "poorest millionaire," Condoleeza Rice,
has a Chevron oil tanker named after her.

I am the first president in U.S. history to have almost all 50 states

of the Union simultaneously suffer massive financial crisis.

I presided over the biggest corporate stock market fraud of any market in
any country in history.

I am the first president in U.S. history to order a pre-emptive attack and
the military occupation of a sovereign nation, and I did so against the
will
of the United Nations and the world community.

I created the largest governmental department bureaucracy in the history
of
the United States.

I set the all-time record for biggest annual budget spending increases,
more
than any president in history.

I am the first president in U.S. history to have the United Nations remove
the U.S. from the Human Rights Commission.

I am the first president in U.S. history to have the United Nations remove
the U.S. from the Elections Monitoring Board.

I removed more checks and balances, and have the least amount of
congressional oversight, than any presidential administration in U.S.
history.

I rendered the entire United Nations viewpoints irrelevant.

I withdrew the U.S. from the World Court of Law.

I refused to allow inspectors access to U.S. "prisoners of war"
(detainees)
and thereby have refused to abide by the Geneva Convention.

I am the first president in history to refuse United Nations election
inspectors (during the 2002 U.S. election).

I am the all-time U.S. and world record-holder for receiving the most
corporate campaign donations.

My largest lifetime campaign contributor, and one of my best friends,
(Kenneth Lay, former CEO of Enron Corporation) presided over the largest
corporate bankruptcy fraud in U.S. history. My political party used the
Enron private jets and corporate attorneys to assure my success with the
U.S. Supreme Court during my 2000 election decision.

I have spent more money on polls and focus groups than any president in
U.S.
history.

I garnered the most sympathy for the U.S. after the World Trade Center
attacks and less than a year later made the U.S. the most resented country
in the world, possibly the largest failure of diplomacy in world history.

I am actively working on a policy of "disengagement" creating the most
hostile of Israel-Palestine relations in at least 30 years.

I am the first to have a majority of Europeans (71%) view my presidency as
the biggest threat to world peace and security.

I am the first president in history to have the people of South Korea more
threatened by the U.S. than by their immediate neighbor, North Korea.

I changed U.S. policy to allow convicted criminals to be awarded
government
contracts.

I set an all-time record for the number of administration appointees who
violated U.S. law by not selling their huge personal investments in
corporations bidding for U.S. contracts.

I failed to fulfill my pledge to capture Osama Bin Laden, dead or alive.

I failed to capture Saddam Hussein.

My family is very close with the Saudi Royal family, and have been for
years, so I kept the pages out of the report on 9-11 that may put the
Saudi's in a bad light.

I failed to capture the anthrax killer who tried to murder the leaders of
our country at the U.S. Capitol Building. I have no leads and no credible
suspects.

Following the World Trade Center attack I have successfully prevented any
PUBLIC investigation into the biggest security failure in the history of
the
United States.

I removed more freedoms and civil liberties for Americans than any
president
in U.S. history.

In a little over two years, I created the most divided country in decades,
possibly the most divided since the Civil War.

I entered my office with the strongest economy in U.S. history and have
turned every single economic category downward -- all in less than two
years.

Records and References:

I have at least one conviction for drunk driving in Maine. My Texas
driving
record has been erased and is not available.

I was AWOL from the National Guard.

I refuse to take a drug test or even answer any questions about drug use.

All records of my tenure as Governor of Texas are now in my father's
library, sealed, and unavailable for public view.

All records of SEC investigations into insider trading or bankrupt
companies
are sealed in secrecy and unavailable for public view.

All records or minutes from meetings that I, or my Vice-President,
attended
regarding public energy policy are sealed in secrecy and unavailable for
public review.

7. As he says, it's hard to tell where to start, with all the bullshit
Edited on Mon Sep-06-04 06:25 PM by 0rganism
Blaming the current economy on Clinton... well, tell him to get over it. In early 2001, the republicans were predicting a surplus. They justified their tax cuts on the basis of Clinton's economic boom. Then, when the revenue cuts had their obvious effect, they blame everything but their own economic policies. The irony is, once the surplus disappeared and the government declared itself incapable of assisting displaced workers in the recession, the tax cuts for the very wealthiest people in America remained untouched.

Quite pathetic.

Poverty in this country... his excuse is that poor people have two cars and a VCR? What a crock. I can buy a used car for $200, but at that price I'd better have two because chances are only one of them is going to be running at any given time. Hell, sometimes it's cheaper to buy a used car then fix an old one. There are few assets that depreciate as fast as cars and consumer electronics.

As for the jobs, well, he's blowing smoke up your ass. The ABSOLUTE NUMBERS, based on the PAYROLL SURVEY the BLS uses to get its data, show a net loss of over a Million jobs since bush took over. Is he ready to tell a displaced tech worker to take one of those "seasonal jobs"? Salaries and benefits are down, as the labor market is forced to equalize with the impoverished conditions of the nations with the worst labor and environmental standards possible. Thanks to subsidized outsourcing, the American worker is closer than its ever been in my lifetime to the poverty conditions of "wealth in most nations". bush's touted 144000 jobs in August is barely enough to break even with the new workers entering the jobs market!

Check out the jobs reports and economic data at http://www.epinet.org/ for mountains of data to refute this tweaker.

Let him suck on this

http://www.washingtonmonthly.com/features/2004/0409.sirota.html

Two decades ago, the Bank of Credit and Commerce International (BCCI) was a highly respected financial titan. In 1987, when its subsidiary helped finance a deal involving Texas oilman George W. Bush, the bank appeared to be a reputable institution, with attractive branch offices, a traveler's check business, and a solid reputation for financing international trade. It had high-powered allies in Washington and boasted relationships with respected figures around the world.
All that changed in early 1988, when John Kerry, then a young senator from Massachusetts, decided to probe the finances of Latin American drug cartels. Over the next three years, Kerry fought against intense opposition from vested interests at home and abroad, from senior members of his own party; and from the Reagan and Bush administrations, none of whom were eager to see him succeed.

By the end, Kerry had helped dismantle a massive criminal enterprise and exposed the infrastructure of BCCI and its affiliated institutions, a web that law enforcement officials today acknowledge would become a model for international terrorist financing. As Kerry's investigation revealed in the late 1980s and early 1990s, BCCI was interested in more than just enriching its clients--it had a fundamentally anti-Western mission. Among the stated goals of its Pakistani founder were to "fight the evil influence of the West," and finance Muslim terrorist organizations. In retrospect, Kerry's investigation had uncovered an institution at the fulcrum of America's first great post-Cold War security challenge.

Tell him to take his worthless corrupted ass and shove it.

MORE

However, his facts are not entirely incorrect. He exaggerated, but they come decently close, according to this site: http://www.heritage.org/Research/Welfare/bg1713.cfm

Still, I can't imagine any of those listed as belongings are expensive when they're secondhand. You can get secondhand cars for 1k dollars. It obviously sounds a lot nicer than they make it out to be.

12. Why poor people have cars
Most cities in this country are so backward that they don't provide public transit. Grocery stores avoid poor neighborhoods, and these same poor neighborhoods have few or no jobs. If poor people want to work, they need cars in most places.

DUH!

Whenever anyone tells me how good poor people have it, I ask them to quit their current job and try living on minimum wage.

although only through 2000. http://www.census.gov/hhes/www/wealth/1998_2000/wealth98_00.html

I hope the tables render ok in your browser. They look like garbage in mozilla. You can probably call the census bureau and get them to help you. A reference librarian likely has the figures on disk at your local library. A good librarian can help you with some of the rest of the statistics. These are all things that the census and the GAO track.

17. Poverty isn't measured by what material possessions you have, but what

choices you have.

The average wealth of the bottom quintile (1 in five Americans) is NEGATIVE $10,000 dollars.

They might have gone into debt to buy a car or a VCR, but the fact remains that your options are REDUCED when you go into debt, even if you have a bunch of quickly devalued possessions to show for your debt.

People should be able to buy those things without going into incredible debt. But wages are stagnating and lenders and health care companies (eating up 20-25% of teh GNP) rule the roost in America, thanks to Republicans.

So, what happens when there are so many people in debt? You have fewer choices. Your kids can't go to the best schools. You can't change your job for a better job or open a small business if the downside risk is too great. That's VERY bad for America. But that's what Republicans want. It protects them.

And this isn't just a problem for the bottom. It's a huge problem for the middle. Bush is transferring HUGE amounts of wealth from the people creating it in the middle -- the people who are working and who have a little bit of money -- to the people at the top who aren't working all that hard to get it. Their work is basically lobbying the government for a tax break or a government contract financed by taxpayer money.
