4. why not
my grandparents in vero can just leave the plywood up and get some more gas for the generator. give them a few days and they'll even have the shingles back on their roof.

13. No electricity means
no ability for the barges to load, no way to get gasoline from the ground through the pump at the service stations.

3. It all depends on where you are
For us up here in Gainesville, Frances still isn't over. Charlie didn't hit here, so for us Frances has definitely been worse. Almost everyone I've heard from so far has at least on big tree down and no electric. My property looks like a bomb hit it. The lake I live on is higher than I've ever seen it and it's still raining.

You're not going to see the kind of destruction like you saw with Charlie, but there is a lot of damage over a much larger area. Either way, Florida is one big mess right now.

Caused the most wide-spread power outages ever to hit the state.

8. Outages are one thing
destruction is another. I just sat through both and then went out to view the damage. Charley was jaw dropping incredible. Frances was nothing except outages...

Now of course I'm just talking Orlando and the path Charley took....I do know that the East coast got slammed hard by Frances... But when all is said and done, Charley will far exceed Frances in total damage.

10. For me Frances was 100 times worse...
but Charley didn't hit me... so it's relative. I know that Orlando got a double-whammy, and I'm just praying that we don't both suffer with the next one.

11. Charley's eye raced over us in two hours.
The eye of Frances took almost two days to torment us....there were 18 hours of non-stop wind and rain just howling.

Charley was quicker, but Frances did a whole lot more damage here.
