Oy. Another dumb LTTE in the Journal Sentinel
This writer seems to think James Dobson is a scientist, with no agenda....

STEM CELLS

Let's see more coverage of other viewpoints

I am writing in response to Betty Sancier's Sept. 1 letter on embryonic stem cell research ("See through politics of important issue"). Sancier, like many others, has been duped into thinking that federal restrictions on embryonic stem cell research are cruel and are taking away valuable research for a possible cure for Alzheimer's, etc.

What the media are failing to report is that, to date - according to James Dobson of Focus on the Family - embryonic stem cells don't work. In fact, he says they can create tumors. Adult stem cell research may well end up being promising.

I'd love to see some balanced coverage on this issue so readers like Sancier can say they've read another viewpoint.

1. Didn't know James Dobson was a doctor
Or a scientist for that matter.

You mean people are actually gullible enough to fall for his shit?

2. Well, either this guy was, or he was sitting around wondering,
"Let's see just how dumb my writing can be -- hmm, what will they print? Maybe I can cite James Dobson as an authority on stem-cell research. Naah....the J-S is a legitimate paper. They'll never fall for it."
