who would you rather do a line of coke with?
should this be the new standard on whom to vote for?
instead of who would you rather have a beer with?

2. I never understood the attraction to coke
I always found it a terribly frustrating drug that made me feel like something wonderful was about to happen for 20 minutes, and then all that happened was a letdown, leaving me with sinuses that felt stuffed with old Brillo pads. It wasn't worth the expense.

I knew cokeheads/drunks just like Dumbya, though, who could never get enough of either. I always found them wearing to be around, loud and enthusiastic but unbearably clumsy and occasionally belligerent.

Thanks, but I'd rather be around somebody like Kerry, interesting to talk to.

Bush is off my list of potential dinner guests, blotto or sober.

8. I really like this quote from George Jung about Pablo Escobar
(Jung is the character played by Johnny Depp in Blow, he says they were responsible for bringing in about 80% of the coke in the U.S. in the late seventies, early 80s)

"What happened is Carlos had the concept where he wanted to flood the country with cocaine and destroy the political and moral structure of the United States. As he stated, cocaine was the atomic bomb and he was going to drop it on America. And so on one hand you have Carlos with his right wing fascist political ideology and I think Pablo--there came into being a hierarchy which I don't even believe he really had any concept of with regard to what was really going down. You know, as the operation grew, I mean, it involved the KGB, the CIA, and bankers and lawyers and doctors and money launderers and all these people came on board to ride on the ship. I think Pablo was still known as the head of the cartel but I think in that sense he really became a figurehead. It all grew beyond his comprehension."

as Palast said, one man's conspiracy is another man's business plan

5. That's a reat one to push back into the faces of any rightard.
When they say "who would you rather have a beer with", say "the real question is who would you rather snort a line with". Of course, you will have to correct yourself since Kerry does not do coke, he would be out of the equation leaving one choice by default.

7. If Kerry DID do coke, with his nose...
...there wouldn't be any left for anyone else.

Just kidding. Tried the shit once and learned what I needed to know about it. I'll stick to beer and the occasional herb.
