Keith Olberman
I really liked him back during his ESPN days, and apparently he's just getting even BETTER on his MSNBC show :bounce:
It does make me wonder...no, make that confirm that his old job at ESPN has indeed fallen over to the :pukes: (Al Michaels and his bj bit for Crashcart and * the other week, Mike and Mike In The Morning with Greenie's not so subtle meme pointers, etc...)

In any case, keep going strong Keith, you're the man!!!

and this OB/GYN gaffe...yeah that sure shows some......some...serious lack of healthy brain material in that fool's head!

1. Olberman is great!
He's running a close second to Jon Stewart in my book.

His reaction to the Bush* OB/GYN gaffe was the funniest thing I have seen in years. It was so good he had to close his show with it!

I thought there would be a whole DU thread on it ...but couldn't find it with a search..........

Kick this for comments

or even

Just to give DUers another opportunity to ridicule Bush*

2. Keith Olberman and Al Franken were on Jeapordy last week.
I don't even remember who the other contestant was. I really thought there would be a hot contest between Olberman and Franken, but Franken beat him easily. The other contestant, another media type, ardly scored.

9. At a really adrenaline minute.
Hey, I'm not knocking Olberman, it's just that Franken was better. So sorry.

6. I was slow to accept KO because he was a sports guy- as I am
and thought he lacked depth-(as i do?) I was wrong- the countdown gimmick kept me away for a while- but all the great comments on DU made me take a second look- Tonight was the absolute best. I'm in

8. At least two liberals on ESPN
Sunday night football play-by-play man Mike Patrick and boxing analyst Al Bernstein. Both of them have said so on the air.

10. Dick Vitale is also a Democrat

... He can be annoying as hell, but I don't question the guys love for college ball or the kids who play it.

12. Dickie V !!!
yes he's loud and silly at times, but the man has a great sense for the game--as it should be played. I love Mike Patrick as well! The boxing guy? Wow...

15. That's surprising
...since Dickie V virtually worships far-right Coach K.

11. Never watched him on ESPN
...but I thought he was obnoxious when he was doing those chicken commercials. I couldn't stand him.

He's doing a great job on "Countdown", though. And I loved him in "OutFoxed" ;-)

13. I like him
Keeps the news interesting. Also, it was great when he said Malkin "made a fool of herself" when she claimed Kerry shot himself of purpose to get purple hearts to get out of Vietnam. (He did not call her an "idiot" as the lying scumbucket claimed an her website.)

16. Keith's done blogs on the MSNBC Hardblogger site
where he talks about how sports tends to be a conservative world. I'm not much of a sports fan so I had only a passing acquaintance with him before his first time around at MSNBC, so I've really only known him as a news anchor. But the thing to remember about Keith is that he graduated at age 20 from Cornell. He's an extremely smart man, that's for sure--and he's on our side. What's not to love? He's certainly got a following here on DU--that's for sure!
