I don't know what to feel about this incident - still in shock, but I don't think I'd say "1 shot to the head cures Islam." or "Islam sucks, and so do their apologists." or even "destroy every mosque in Russia."

...I had heard that there may (emphasis on may)have been Arabs involved. I heard that over a week ago so there must be an update available that I have just not taken the time to look for. Is your number from the updated version of events? I get most of my news from NPR so that must have been the source where I heard it.

I'm starting to feel like a Freeper on this issue.

Is there any link anyone could give me that has Muslims condemning the incident in Russia? Anything of the sort? Running bayonets through kids, gouging their eyes out and other form of torture should be pretty easy to condemn, even for groups that hate the western world.

My Freeper boss has been screaming about this all morning, and said that if Islam really is a religion of peace, at least someone practicing it should condemn that. That sucks, because he's an asshole and I've never agreed with him before on anything but the Second Amendment, but I am having a hard time disagreeing with him. If the reports are true, that kid that took the bayonet did nothing but ask for a glass of water. If so, shouldn't SOMEONE be condemning this?

Ordinary Americans had no problem condemning Abu Ghraib; shouldn't "ordinary," "peace-loving" Islamists condemn this?

Someone, please point me to anything I've missed in my search for this. A link would really help, because for the first time in my life I feel myself gravitating towards "shoot first, apologize later if you're wrong," and I hate feeling like this.

8. The Chechen/Russian struggle goes back to Tsarist times

the Chechens are Muslim, not Arabs. They are North Caucasian and have a long history of animosity going back to the 17th century.

I saw that awful show one time on msnbc and sent at least a hundred e-mails on it. I'm not particularly in favor of censorship, but this sort of irresponsible vitriol is just wrong! Hopefully, Kerry will kick Powell out of his cushy FCC position and we can bring back some sort of reason. Crush Rush and ravage Savage! We just don't need that kind of hate-it kills people.

One website a former friend on another site posted a link to actually had comments on it like, "How many concentration camps would it take to exterminate all Muslims?" and "We should just let Russia nuke its problem areas while we nuke ours--that would take care of it."

Honestly, I'm scared for my Muslim friends. I'm still sad about what happened to all those people (it's pretty personal to me, being Russian Orthodox and having taught in Russia for three months in college), but I could never go that far. The ones who did it and those who helped make it happen need to be brought to justice, but what do all the other billion Muslims or so have to do with it?

Just because a handful of people from one religion commits a horrific act, the entire race is branded/stereotyped (by freepers). Said that he doesn't know why Putin doesn't just burn Chechnya to the ground. He says this type of crap to try to get a rise out of me, so I calmly asked him if he really thinks that the regular people in Chechnya were in favor such atrocities as the school siege.
