Rep. David Dreir next to be outed?

Dreier, who had a dismal 17 percent voting rating by the gay rights lobby Human Rights Campaign in the last Congress, refused to answer a question as to whether he was heterosexual when questioned during a Sirius radio interview Aug 31.

Rogers said he doesn’t plan to actually ‘out’ Dreier in his latest posting, but suggests that the congressman has not been entirely “forthcoming” about his sexuality. He won’t say whether he has evidence Dreier is gay.

“At the moment, I can’t talk about that,” Rogers said.

Suggestions that Dreier might be gay were floated on the liberal talk radio network Air America’s “Majority Report” last week.

Dreier voted for the Marriage Protection Act in July, a measure that would strip the federal courts of jurisdiction over challenges to the Defense of Marriage Act, which banned the federal government from recognizing gay partnerships. He did not vote on the latest amendment to constitutionally ban gay marriage.

1. He has been invisible lately.
Up until about a month ago, he was appearing daily on the various TV shows defending dumbya. But I have not seen him more than a couple of times since.

Is this merely a coincidence, or is it pre-emptive move to reduce the impact of an outing, disconnect him from the coward?

2. So transparent, geesh, everyone knows guys who are comfortable
around gay men are secure in their sexuality, it's only repressed homosexuals that get unnerved.

4. Yup...
The jerk father in the film "American Beauty" is the classic example of over-compensating the external tough guy, hiding the closeted man within.

Tom DeLay could have played that role, I think.

3. I live in his district and it seems to be common knowledge
Dreier is gay. Strangely enough, his opponent in this election is an openly gay, former heavy equipment operator (a woman). Even if they out him, I don't think she would have a prayer. The Democrats nominate sacrificial lambs to go up against Dreier--the woman running has absolutely no political experience. I think Dreier has one of the biggest war chests of anyone in the House and is viewed as unbeatable. I hope that they can at least reveal him as a hypocrite.
