Ok when we keep hearing "insurgents" being killed daily..

1. Good point that I was thinking about earlier today.

No uniforms. No lettering on their clothes that says "insurgents".
Many citizens carry guns so that certainly cannot be a criterion.

It was always something like "5 Americans and 500 Viet Cong were killed." No matter how many Americans were killed, the number of Viet Cong killed was invariably in the hundreds.

A comedian (I can't remember which one) claimed that he kept track of the official casualty figures and that by the next week there would be no Vietnamese people left.

A "few handfuls" and then there were a few "saddam loyalists" and then there were some "foreign terraists" and then a few "criminals".

I think the Poet Laureate of Death and Destruction has run out of nasty names to call the millions of people in IraqNam who are fighting to run out the invaders. But that's just me saying that.

9. Don't know what the rules of engagement are, but

Iraq has to be a field of dreams for snipers.

I would think just a relatively few sniper teams could knock out 30 insurgents a day without much effort.

Don't know if that's happening or not though.
