What is wrong with Dee Dee Meyers?
She was on Hardball tonight agreeing with Matthews on his Kerry criticisms about idiotic, meaningless drivel --like whether or not Kerry's sport of snowboarding is something the average voter can relate to. Meyers said Kerry should take up basketball instead.

Who cares?!

Is she still a Democrat? Maybe she's just mad that she wasn't one of Clinton's advisors to be hired by the Kerry/Edwards camp.

I wish the talking head Dem pundits would quit devouring their own!

Then after Meyers stupid remarks, Mike Barnacle gets on a talks about how Kerry talks over people's heads and Bush speaks 'American'. People can understand Bush, according to mini-Tweety. Really? Cuz I'm still wondering what Bush meant when he said "We've got an issue in America. Too many good docs are getting out of business. Too many OB-GYNs aren't able to practice their love with women all across this country."

I must be missing the brillance of that statement.

1. I don't know. I saw here tonight too. She's not the Dee Dee I remember.
I really liked here when she had the Daily Press briefings for Clinton. She won't argue with ANYBODY any more.

2. pundits
Kerry does not have to listen to any pundits. Just be that young Kerry on the Dick Cavett Show. Poised, calm, knowledgeable, eloquent, indeed fabulous. The problem with him today is that he has now too many handlers but few effective hitmen. So he has to fight this again alone like that "uncoached" young Kerry like Joe Klein puts it.

3. Perception Is Almost Everything re: windsurfing vs basketball
I don't give a rats ass that Kerry windsurfs, but I did care when Bush Sr. was always on his boat in Kennybunkport.

Those images of rich family and the God damed President of The United States spending more time catching fish vs running the country.

Bush chopping wood or Kerry surfing? Who do most people relate to in this photo?

6. I guess it depends n your perspective. Here in Colorado, snowboarding
probably has more fans than clearing brush. We clear brush, but then we hit the slopes for fun. It is not the 'rich man's sport' the media wants to make it... golfing is.

Yeah, but you've been having a lift ticket price war in Colorado for the last couple of seasons. Back East, lift tickets have passed $50 for eight hours on the weekend. What we need around here is a King Sooper selling those nifty discounted lift tickets.

I've never been to Park City, Aspen, or Sun Valley. I'm sure there are lots of Bogner snowsuits there. Where I go, people show up in BDUs covered with duct tape. Not only that, but the pickup trucks they drive are covered with duct tape too.

As for me, I bought another pair of snowboard boots two weeks ago, at a thrift store, for $3. Vans, perfect fit. I've also bought snowboards at yard sales.

Yeah, you'll need some disposable income, but anyone who thinks snowsports are exclusively for the uber-rich is way wrong. I mean, how can you explain all those Cub Scout and church youth groups out there on the slopes?

16. In Aspen I've seen girl boarders in minks!
Where I live, we board, ski --whatever in the same clothes we cleared the brush in, ha! We just change our hats and reapply the sunscreen.

29. Here In Denver
I pay $400.00 per year for a season pass to Keystone/Breckenridge/Vail w/ many restrictions during the holiday season, so then there's the extra bucks for him to ski when he's on vacation. -

Then there's the skis he damages because of rails, lunch at the lodge, gas, ski clothes.

I don't know why snowboarding would be any cheaper than skiing and skiing in beautiful Colorado ain't cheap by any means.

4. Randi Rhodes explained it the other day...
she said, if you tell the truth they (CNNMSRNC) don't ask you back.

If you bring up facts (the media don't like) or point our inconsistencies, they don't ask you back.

That is about as clear as a bell.

Hardball appearances?

She's not trying to promote a book or radio show or tv show or anything, so what's the difference?

I like seeing Kerry windsurf. At least Kerry can do something athletic without falling and smashing his own face in. Be a stud Kerry, don't listen to these fat good for nothing pontificators.

You want to see an asswipe who goes on cable as a "democrat" and does nothing but hurt Kerry, go look on Faux and that guy who looks like the freaking wolfman. He went on O'Liely tonight and started bitching about Kerry "is still bleeding" because "he doesn't stand for anything".

Get a clue wolfman, the republicans aren't going to be your friend if you start repeating them, they're just using you and your grotesque appearance and horrible personality and meaningless lack of insight to hurt Kerry.

I hear a lot of French-speakers play hockey. And don't they have garter belts to hold their stockings up? You know (making that limp wrist motion).

Some people say it's just the sort of thing that terrorists would like. I, of course, would never say that.

15. I think Clinton soured her off.
During the Monica days, she defended him against the allegations on most of those political talk shows including Matthews. When Clinton had to admit he did have an affair with "that woman", it sort of made all the people who defended him look like fools. I mean if it were me, I might have thought, "Why did he just let me go on like that when he knew he was guilty?"

I noticed her perspective changed after that.

18. It is really as you say. But I started noticing the peddling to the right
after the Clinton/Monica scandal broke when Clinton could no longer deny it. Or, maybe she wants to beef up her media whore credentials? After all, it is the RW media whores who have the jobs. I guess we would have to ask her.

19. With the exception of a few, I've noticed many women pundits on Matthews
knock themselves out trying to agree with him. Those who don't --like Katrina Vanden Heuval-- get cut off and aren't invited back much.

30. Matthews has such a humongous ego that I would
venture to say that anyone who disagrees with him too much won't get invited back. Speaking of Katerina, he had her on once years ago when I still watched him, and they got into a big disagreement that Chris had the last word on. They showed her face while he was talking and I distinctly saw her lips saying "fuck you". I am not a lip reader but it sure looked like this is was what she was mouthing.

She's cut from the same cloth as Steph and that Clinton press secretary clown (the one before Lockhart, who was AWESOME). These pukes launch their careers through Clinton's good graces and then bend over for their corporate masters! A pox on their houses!

25. Get the easterners OUT of this campaign
Now that's MY advice. Jesus christ, have they no clue what's going on in the rest of the country??? Out here, snowboarding is NORMAL. As is windsurfing, skiing, bicycling and everything else Kerry does. If all of that, PLUS hockey, isn't American enough for these eastern pinheads, then THEY have the problem, not America. Maybe Kerry should take up bullriding, is that macho enough for them???

28. They're both right on both points
Kerry should have enough sense to realize most Merikans don't snowboard. And it would be great if he could remember to talk to the average person, not a group of Cambridge professors.

Unfortunately, Kerry will be Kerry. It's who we've got, and it's who he is. Nonetheless, he could at least take up round ball for the benefit of the damn campaign.

31. I agree....
Snow boarding and wind surfing are not sports most Americas can relate to.....if they do, many of them think it's strictly a sport of the wealthy.

I also agree, that for the campaign, let's try a different sport...or, at the very least, keep the cameras away.

Snowboarding, basketball, paisley underwear, barbecues, earth tones,alpha-male, etc.

The Oprah-ization of politics brought to you by careerist, know nothing, PR specialists, masquerading as Democrats.

They should all go back to what their good at - selling used cars and aluminum siding. And, take Carville with them.
