What would happen if Russia attacked Saudi Arabia?
Since they say now they will attack terror in any region of the world, and they also have the right to preemptively attack to defend themselves. If they attacked Saudi Arabia, would we do anything about it (even if they had proof?)

1. I would fear for the Russians
and hope they knew what they doing. I would have no sympathy for the Royal Family.

2. Under Bush? No.
Captain Crap would say Saudia Arabia isn't a terrorist regime, they are strong allies, they have always been good friends, we need to be SENSITIVE on the war on terror, blah blah blah blah blah, whatever lies he needed to say. Don't forget who is the Grand Champion Princess of Flip Flops.

3. Hopefully not much.
What goes around comes around. If the Saudis get hit for something their citizens did or funded or collaborated in, in any way, then too bad for them.

4. Well, Sheikh Usamah would see his $150/barrel dream come true

Um, beyond that.. I assume Putin is banging his chest for domestic consumption, rather than really preparing the invasion fleet.

So, the as-Saud family are probably safe for now. Georgia (not East Alabama) might be royally fucked, however.

5. Some Neo Fascists...
such as Perle and Frumm in their book, "The End of Evil" have advocated that the US should overthrow the Saudis. Yeah, it is a bit weird, seeing that the Bush Crime Family is in thick as thieves with them. What would BushCo do is anybody's guess.

8. could, would or want..
Edited on Wed Sep-08-04 06:52 AM by Aidoneus
Could--at this point, not a damn thing.
Would--see answer above.
Want--depends on what exact pound of flesh (or more than a pound) Putin would seek to burn for it. Georgia is an important tug`o`war link for the BTC pipedream that Chechnya figures in as a part of as well, but I can't predict how far this will go. Personally I'm not expecting anything more to come of this. The Russian army still buries a hundred of its occupation forces in Chechnya every month or two and they can't really afford to take on more, just like the failing occupation in Iraq prevents new plans from being acted on.

9. Ah yes, I can see it now
Talk about role reversals.....the US will be cajoling Russia to be calm, rational, use DIPLOMACY instead of war.....

Russia will accuse the US of being hypocrits - for not taking their own advice regarding terrorism and PRE EMPTIVE STRIKES.

12. What if they attack us? We gave asylum to a top Chechen recently...
Does that mean the BA harbors terrorists?

11. Now that is a very good question. One that bears some serious thinking
It is a serious question too. Russia has said anywhere in the world and this could also include Afghanistan again. You know they would love to get back at the Afghanis who embarrassed them over a ten year period and who actually (unlike the Reagan-lovers want you think) cause the downfall of the nation. The mentality of PUtin seems pretty much like the thinking of Bush and anglo-supremacy freaks who love the chance to kill anybody not like them.
