It's a creepy time of year.
You open the refrigerator, and see the orange juice expires on September 11th, and think "what the hell..."

1. You know, I had noticed that many of the things we have are
expiring September 10th and September 12th, and was wondering if some companies are purposefully avoiding the 9/11 expiration date?

I did see one thing that expired on the 11th, and you're right, it was creepy.

2. My parents' wedding day was

9/11/59.

That date always had nice connotations for me until three years ago.

Call me crazy, but I can't IMAGINE anyone scheduling a wedding for that date this year (it being a Saturday).

(My best friend got married on November 22, 1986 and didn't understand why I thought that was an odd choice.)

3. My wedding day is this Saturday, 9/11/04
We lived in Hoboken on 9/11/01. We get the strange looks when we mention our date. Depending on our mood and who gives us the strange look, our justification ranges from the practical ("first open date in September for our chosen venue") to the reconciliatory ("we wanted to make something good happen on that date") to the combative ("time to move on, folks"). The last one is usually reserved for flag-waving, "support the heros", non-New Yorkers....
