"The Democratic Party is a coastal, secular party."
Wingers like to spread this bullshit, Tucker Carlson especically.

Well Montana is about to have a new Dem governor and quite possibly a Democratically-controlled legislature.

We run New Mexico. Russ Fiengold is from Wisconsin. Barak Obama is about to become an awesome new Senator. Those are just a few examples.

Then there's the picture out today of that tough, Union, blue-collar guy smacking down that heckler.

There's tons of Democrats in the heartlands of this country.

Fuck I hate the media whores.

1. Does it mean Illinois is now a coastal state?
I'm sure Illini all over the place will be thrilled to know their state is now the 'north coast' of the U.S. eh?

14. Yeah, I remember doing a hard six months in Rantoul in the early 80s
with my first husband, while he went to DoD tech school at Chanute.

If I'd only known it was the coast, I wouldn't have been half as miserable!

5. Does that boy know anything about geography?
We in Iowa have a Democratic Governor, and a Democratic Senator. We voted for Gore in 2004. Well, maybe since we are bordered by two rivers, we are "coastal". However, I guess most people consider us a Midwestern state. Well maybe Carlson is smarter than everybody else. Or maybe not.

8. And he has forgotten
Minnesota. We have voted Democrat in every general elections since God only know when. We are also the proud home of the late Paul Wellstone, Hubert Humphrey, Walter, Mondale and today we have Mark Dayton. Even when we have a Palenty or at Coleman we are still Democrat at heart.

16. How do people not feel embarrassed for themselves when they say
stuff so damn ignorant and patently untrue? There seems to be a lot of 1) mental illness involving the ability to lie without any pangs of conscience or embarrassment or; 2) a record number of truly incompetent bastards who are totally incapable of rational or intelligent thought making it into the world of mass media.

to the three Steelworkers' Union members that were volunteering in the office today on the phones. They didn't strike me as the ultra-liberal elite type. Strange, that.

from the norm.

He summers every year in Kennebunkerport and he dearly craves those contemplative moments at Camp David, especially during the snow season.

27. Hmm. I see they've left "humanist" off this time.
Remember in the 80s when it was "The Democrats are secular humanists?"

I remember in high school a friend talking about this as if the Dems. were sacrificing babies at student assemblies! Anyone who allows labels like this to sway his vote has the mind of a high school student and deserves the government he gets.

(My apologies in advance to any enlightened high school students who happen to read this post!)
