Here's how we can end the electoral college forever:
Get about 1 million Californians to MOVE. Move to Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Arizona, Colorado, Utah, Kansas, and the Dakotas. California doen't need their votes, but if enough of the liberal voting Californians move to those other states, then we could swing all of those "rock solid" Republican states, into our camp. Once that happened, the Republicans would move like LIGHTNING to end the electoral college.

That's the fly in the ointment...

6. Who cares about work?
Just sell your house for a seven figure profit before the value drops and retire somewhere that it would cost $150k.

11. EXACTLY!
Or, just be a rich Malibu liberal who can afford to retire comfortably at any age.

3. Sounds simple.
But how do you get a million people to move? They have to find jobs, homes, schools for the kids if they have any. And of course they have to want to move. I suspect many Californians are like people from other states. They love where they live and really don't want to settle anywhere else. Its just too simplistic an idea.

12. Ok, then we can have a telethon
It'll be a big liberal population distribution telethon. States with abundant liberals can phone in and pledge to send so many liberals, to TARGETED states. That way, we can take over one state at a time, as we get more pledges. New York also has many extra liberals who could be used to conquer right wing states. For example, New York could phone in, and pledge 95,000 liberals. We could probably divy them up between Wyoming, Montana, and Idaho, and thereby, take over all three. Governors, Senators, House Reps., State legislatures, and not to mention, Presidential Electoral Votes.
New Jersey could phone in and pledge 12,000 liberals. The liberals in ALL the southern states could move together in a few targeted states, such as Georgia, Louisiana, or North Carolina.
If we play our cards right, we could win the electoral college unanimously. Such is the nature of having the popular vote.

8. Difficult
Something of that scale would require some central person or organization to figure the math of who should move where and how many.

And remember that California has the highest number of EC votes, and if too many liberals moved and the plan didn't work out it would be disastrous for the left.

swing states. that idea has crossed my mind a few times. If you want a million to do it, you need to plan it through an organization and do it over a decent period of time to let people find homes and jobs.

but let the repubs have their strong holds like Wyoming and Utah.
