I'm not trying to incite violence here. I'm one of the least violent people on this planet. Its just that I think that this lapse of the ban was planned by these thugs, and will put more of these weapons in the hands of those that would like nothing better than to put a cap in our liberal asses.

This is just more depressing news to me.

The U.S. is teeming with gun-toting lunatics and the situation will only get worse as they demand the unchecked circulation of assault rifles today and more powerful military weaponry tomorrow.

The framers of the U.S. Constitution were not crazy enough to grant unlimited firepower to every drunken sailor in town yet that's the NRA's interpretation of the 2nd Amendment.

2. The "lapse" of the ban or the sunset

was put in place 10 years ago when it was originally passed. The claimed intention was something along the lines of "we'll see how it works and if it doesn't we'll let it sunset." Of course, in reality, the only way to get it passed in the first place was by sticking the sunset on it.

When it all comes down to it, the only thing that is going to change when the AWB sunsets is that the rifles that are currently being sold right now will come with threaded barrels and/or flash suppressors, bayonet lugs, and possibly collapsible stocks if you want one. Also, magazines with a capacity of over ten rounds should get cheaper since they'll be able to manufacture them again.

Seriously, wait until Monday. You'll have a wider selection of features available, and the firearms now known as "post-bans" will probably drop in price.
