My letter to the times about the "war on terror"

I sent this to the NY Times. Hope they print it.

President Bush's argument that the war in Iraq is the "war on terror" fails, however you look at it. If the insurgents we are fighting in Iraq are terrorists, then it must be acknowledged that thousands or tens of thousands of new terrorists have been created by the Iraqi war. This cannot be considered a success.
If they are not terrorists, but rather people fighting an occupying force in their own country, then there is not a connection between Iraq and the "war on terror". This would show it to be a completely misguided policy.
