I wonder who did George's duty for him???
I realize that this is a cosmic question and we will never really know the answer but, there had to have been a guy who got jumped in line by George W. Bush and didn't get that safe place in the National Guard...I wonder if he was sent to Vietnam...I wonder if he survived...I wonder.

I also wonder if George W. Bush even realizes that there was something really wrong about what he did and what his family did and what his politically connected friends did in helping him shirk his duty to his country.

As a mother, this is not the kind of man I want sending my chidren off to fight his wars.

PS. As a vietnam-era "Waiting Wife" as they called those of us whose husbands were serving over there, I remember that there were a few ways to look at Vietnam: 1) Become a Consciensious Objector; 2) go to Canada; 3) join the National Guard; 4) take a number and wait to see if your number came up. I can say with certainty that those people I knew who chose the Guard went to every meeting...did everything they were required to do...because they knew that the Guard was a gift and that they had a duty to fulfill. In those days, I knew of alot of wealthy, influencial people and few of them "pulled strings". Those that did were not respected.

1. They should make him pick a name from the wall.
Or at least Kerry should ask him to.

3. Jesus! What a great idea!
I wonder if Kerry would have the guts to do it! You know, I'm an idiot! A good friend of mine is Kerry's Communication Director is Massachusetts...I'm going to e-mail her right now with your idea.

2. a great though unanswerable question. . .
Moreover, in as much as many minimize what transpired 35 years ago and question its relevance to what is transpiring now, this very issue cuts to the core of why this election is so unbelievably frustrating.

Kerry's biography reflects someone who has throughout his life, consistantly acted out of good conscience. Bush's biography, quite to the contrary, does not in any way shape or form.
