We all "knew subconsciously" that the powerful got special privileges
during the war....but with Mr. Barnes admission about preferential treatment for shrub during Vietnam...the reality of it smacks you in the face when you hear how circumstances were manipulated to be better for them while others had to go in their place.

I think the general public...will slowly absorb that information and turn against boy George and his cabal.

Maybe the person who changed shrub's driver's license will get a conscience and come forward.

1. Who took Bush's place in the draft and
is his name is on the wall? That's the damn reality of this horrible war. How many died so that the rich and well connected could avoid the risk of going to Viet Nam? It was so, so unfair.

2. Subconscious my ass
Anyone who was there knew the routine.
We need some dem's that used privilege to come forward and help expose the truth about this.

3. No, we all knew consciously
Maybe some were in denial about it, but it was very common knowledge at the time.

I thought the most poignant part of the Barnes interview was his talking about the Vietnam Memorial. Or at least that's the part that tugged at my heartstrings.

4. Yes, it was common knowledge.
Even Bill Clinton mentioned a couple of weeks ago that he would have joined the guard himself if he had had any clout to get in.

7. Any Guard.
I actualy joined the Army, not the Gaurd in '66. Long story why I did. I didn't get shipped to Nam. Another long story. I have no hard feelings about those that joined the Gaurd but with GW Bush is is a different story because he abused that and so did the Bush Crime Family. The unearned medal story does irritate me. I hope someone can send it to "Texans For Truth". Where's that photo?

6. Americans like to get used
Slapped around, robbed from, sent to war as their masters move in privilege circles. They love it, eat it up with a spoon. Otherwise what can explain Bush's popularity: Tax cuts for the wealthy, Cheney's Halburton getting no-did contracts for a war they started. They love to be lied to stick their face in the slop and chow down.

Stockholm Syndrome? Stupidity? Media mind control? Tough guy appeal? Peripheral knowledge based on appearances to make major decisions?

What ever it is they are doing to themselves they want it. But do they know it?

8. Fortunate Son
Some folks are born made to wave the flag,
Ooh, they’re red, white and blue.
And when the band plays hail to the chief,
Ooh, they point the cannon at you, lord,

It ain’t me, it ain’t me, I ain’t no senator’s son, son.
It ain’t me, it ain’t me; I ain’t no fortunate one, no,

Yeah!
Some folks are born silver spoon in hand,
Lord, don’t they help themselves, oh.
But when the taxman comes to the door,
Lord, the house looks like a rummage sale, yes,

It ain’t me, it ain’t me, I ain’t no millionaire’s son, no.
It ain’t me, it ain’t me; I ain’t no fortunate one, no.

Some folks inherit star spangled eyes,
Ooh, they send you down to war, lord,
And when you ask them, how much should we give?
Ooh, they only answer more! more! more! yoh,

It ain’t me, it ain’t me, I ain’t no military son, son.
It ain’t me, it ain’t me; I ain’t no fortunate one, one.

It ain’t me, it ain’t me, I ain’t no fortunate one, no no no,
It ain’t me, it ain’t me, I ain’t no fortunate son, no no no,
