It seems that amidst all the "forged memos" mini-controversy people are forgetting the OTHER part of the "60 Minutes" story: that Ben Barnes pulled some strings to get Bush into the ANG ahead of a long list of other people. Let's not get completely taken over by the other sides preoccupations. This seems to me to be an example of how they "frame the debate" and make us debate on their terms. And it seems that we are doing it by getting caught up in this "forged memos" thing while completely forgetting, for the time, about Ben Barnes admission that he helped Bush avoid service in Vietnam by getting him into the Guard.

1. I agree....."special" treatment will grate on many people as they think

about that interview....and the fact that he didn't even honor the special treatment enough to do a good job..will piss a lot of people off...the information was printed in the Army Times and all the guard soldiers in Iraq, on their second tour and being targeted every day, are reading those stories and are slowly burning. Rightly so!

I believe in the good of the American people.

Ben Barnes said what he said. The memos speak for themselves. Bushco is doing everything it can, once again, to spin its way out of damning revelations. Oh, there is certainly a pattern here folks.
