If he asks this one question, "Mr Bush name one person in Alabama who remembers you serving your country" he's won. There are no names, there are no witnesses. Bush will have the deer in the headlights look.
But oh, if only it would. It's incredible that we have to rely on this AWOL story, though, there are so many worse things Bush has done. Our media sucks.
Kerry has more class than to sink to that but it sure would be nice if it was asked. It's amazing the level that bush sinks to while Kerry remains fair.
Unfortunately this is the one issue (Bush's national guard service) that has captured the public's attention and is possibly helping to deflate the bounce Bush received after the convention. I saw Rather interviewed on CNN and he makes several important points about the questions remaining unanswered. What CBS needs to do is show how the issue of Bush's honesty and integrity relate to his current performance. Of course, I am preaching to the choir when I make these points here, but the mass public needs to be made aware of the fact that we have been lied to repeatedly in going to war with Iraq and that there are underlying agendas that have not been brought to light.
6. Nope. There's that Calhoun dude that came forward and said he
distinctly remembers bush* at ANG. The only problem is the documents don't support the dates Calhoun cites. Hell bush* himself doesn't even backup the dates cited. But, it'd be a good enough retort in the heat of a debate to deflect that attack.
