CNN:Should Dan Rather and ÇBS state their sources for the story?
no link, lifted from DFA blog. Surely they must be joking since no such call for Novak to do the same. Right?

2. And they can ask that
with no shame whatsoever. The transformation to the GOP is now complete.

No. Why should they?
No laws have been broken. Nothing that should not have been available via FOIA has been exposed. No, oh, let's say, CIA agents have been outed in this case or anything like that.

There is no reason why CBS's sources should be revealed.

4. Heard that on CNN
and thought the exact same thing about Novak. I did hear some of them (timidly) comment that the White House is not disputing what the memos say. Then they went right back to the 'forged' topic.

That sure got spun fast. I think I got whiplash on it. And remember, no one asked about the 'truth' from the swiftvets.

It's amazing that the news organizations are calling on CBS to reveal who their sources are AND who their experts are. Yet, they back Novak all the way. They all cite constitutional protections for reporters being subpoenad over the Plame outing. And they promote a never ending stream of Bush propaganda without even blinking.

Sad. Truly sad.

6. I totally agree - they are NOT saying that the content of the memos aren't
true. The Bush spokespeople have not addressed the content at all. That speaks volumes! They should be talking about the info being false if they believe that it is false. Not this "forgery" bull. I think it speaks, no SCREAMS that he did make the calls that were mentioned in those memos, that he was going over the commanders head and that the content of the memos are real, and THEY KNOW IT.

They could have hedged their bets, being that the author is dead, but they would risk that someone would come forward to further substantiate the claims because they were there when they were written.

I heard on the news today a small blurb about the commanders son saying that there was no way his father would have written such memos. Well, for those of us that are parents, we know that there are lots of things that we did, as people, when we were younger that have nothing to do with our children's perception of us. Goodness knows, there are many things that I did that would blow my kids minds if they were aware of them! Kids don't know all the things that their parents have EVER done and I don't think this kid knows all the things that his father might have done either.

I think we need to hit hard with the point that the WH is not denying the content of the memos.

8. ownership of US media by the vast right wing conspiracy
is 99.99999% complete. Yes it's really funny they didn't ask questions like that of the swifties, Novak, that evil son of a bitch, and I also just love the assumption (READ FACT) that the documents were "forged." When people talk about Kerry being ineffective, actually he is effective. The environment in which he is operating, though, is one that won't run his message without having right wingers hired by the media immediately disparaging it. And when Bush stumbles his way through something, those same people talk it up like it's the most brilliant performance ever given. The so-called "news" people are GOP attack dogs.

The same people who ran the swifties for 3 weeks straight are now the same people who don't want to run the Bush Awol stuff as it's from 30 years ago and has "no relevance." They show exactly who they are working for and almost everyone is working for the right wing.

7. This post is forged!
Notice how the "C" in CBS is actually the French C cedille. No true American would every use this character. You are obviously a French spy!

11. NO! Let the rest of the networks sur them for it!
I think CBS has reasonably documented their case here, and if that's not good enough for the other networks, well "sue me" shoud be the response! Liers won't go that far because they might get caught.
