"No Question that terrorists will try to thwart the balloting" - Rummy
Edited on Sat Sep-11-04 12:37 AM by Must_B_Free
That's a frightening statement, especially after Cheney's gaff.

From the CNN Crawl

1. And if they succeed, there will be no excuse
to keep the Bush administration.

Because if we are not free to elect our leaders, they have failed to live up to their oath of office.

2. You mean someone besides the Republican Party?
They're the terrorists I'm worried about on election day.

3. Why the heck ...
... would The Terrorists (TM) care about our election to the point of messing with the balloting? I mean, really. Why would they care? I can't come up with a reason.

7. Just a speculation...

I could imagine a scenario in which "terrorists" would want to interfere with balloting. This mostly involves rigging the election so that the candidate with the most likelihood of creating discord wins. That is, should someone try to rig the election so that it comes out in Bush's favor, it works in the favor of the terrorists because it moves people like us to further distrust our government.

Terror is simply a tactic used in an attempt to achieve an end. That end is the destruction of our society. Electing Kerry won't destroy our society. Electing Bush very well might.

13. Irony of Irony
Kerry wins, Ridge and Rummy say Al Qaeda hacked the vote so Bush would lose.

Kerry laughs at them saying "You're probably right, but there are no paper ballots, so we can't do a recount. TOUGH LUCK, GUYS!"

10. Richard Clarke...
...who knows more about terrorists than Rummy, says they won't try to interfere because at this point the outcome of interference is too unpredictable.

They don't know how it would throw the election, so they won't try.

12. Is he trying to call Democrats terrorists?
Maybe he's talking about Naderites. ;)

Seriously. Does anyone in this administration ever go through a day without making threats and keeping the fear alive? They always belie the "we're safer" theme.

Flim flam con men.

15. Here's something I don't get...
Why would terrorists, knowing how the Republicans are hell bent on destroying Islam, taking over all the oil-rich countries in the middle east, and basically trying to take away everything they care about, want to keep the Republican party in power?

Answer: They don't, but the Saudi's do. And the Neo-cons do. And they will do whatever it takes to ensure that it happens. Including another "terrorist attack."

Rummy and Cheney are threatening us. The only terrorists we need to worry about are the one's in our own government.

21. The repubs are F*cked if they succeed, here's why:
1. They created the Dept. of Homeland Suckerity and it failed.

2. They created an intel Czar, and it failed.

3. They created the 9-11 commision and it meant nothing.

4. Iraq and the capture of Bin, er Saddam has not made the world or US safer.

5. Chenny said that terrorists wouyld ONLY attack if Kerry won!

Their only scapegoat may be Clinton and the resession he created :p

I bet they're going to claim that terrorists rigged the vote for Kerry if Kerry wins.
