Guys -- Why some of us so depressed!!?
Edited on Sat Sep-11-04 06:00 PM by bigwavebobby
We have AUTHENTICATED proof with the memos that "*" shirked his sworn duty as a guardsman.

We should be shouting this PROVEN fact from the rooftops.

WTF is happening to us? It's like a frigging wake in here.

There - I had to get that out!

The frigging media WILL not report the truth about the story surrounding these memos. Instead they cary Bushies water for him.

I am excited that this is becoming part of the American "conversation". Can't do anything but good, IMO.

3. Nor am I
about this issue, at least! I feel that the priviledged service of Shrub has been publicized. Coupled with the disrespect shown to vets at the RNC and in Shrub's policies, there are a lot of folks ticked off at Shrub and Republicans in general.

21. OK, look at it this way: With all the media's spin power, bushco losing
anyway! Be happy!
Check out the results of a decidedly unscientific poll online this week at the Billings Gazette:

I am changing my vote to John Kerry. 676 Votes - 20%

I am changing my vote to George Bush. 339 Votes - 10%

I am NOT changing my vote. I plan to vote for John Kerry
967 Votes - 28%

I am NOT changing my vote. I plan to vote for George Bush.

1224 Votes - 36%

I have not decided who to vote for. 164 Votes - 4%

//That is 48% Kerry 46% bush* in a decidedly Republican area of a red state. True, just one of those 'anybody can play' polls, but look at the "changing my vote.." difference. Folks, if this is happening in Billings, Mt, you an bet the truth about the junta is getting out regardless of the corporate media spin and hate radio talking heads. People are starting to get information from other sources and they are not happy about outsourcing, soaring medical costs with Medicare changes being a joke and a give away to Big Pharm. Almost everybody knows a family with some member being held hostage in the Iraqi desert by Halliburton and they here the shrill, desperate bullying from the Halliburton-paid Chicken Hawk Dick Cheney. They know these guys are assholes who would sell their Grandma Millie for a fast buck.

We need to keep up the attack every time some RW operative says something false. And I mean WE, not just Kerry. WE need to watch the LTTE of our papers and jump all over any astro-turf and/or peddler of dis-information, emotion filled rubbish without any facts behind them. WE need to speak up at the water cooler when some winger mouths off groundless talking point propaganda. WE need to stand up in church and take exception if any cleric tries to direct votes for an issue or candidate and remind them that to do so puts the church's tax exempt status at risk. WE need to hold the line against the lies, innuendos and bully tactics. We need to let our candidates spend their time talking issues!

When the Rove dirty-tricksters pull their stunts, it is to prevent Kerry/Edwards and all other dems from directing attention to the issues. The GOP can't win on issues and they know it. We need to keep getting the truth out at our local levels and take the wind out of Rove's sails. We need to be the ones defending Liberals so Kerry/Edwards can go on the offensive on ISSUES. The message is getting out and the junta is more and more desperate. The nation knows it.

Be happy. But work your ass off to leave no attack, lie, or thug tactic go unmet by our swift and resolute response. Give no quarter when someone spreads lies, gossip, innuendo. Set 'em straight and do it in front of an audience whenever possible. Let the liars & bullies know we won't back down in our defense of this nation we love.

In your mind, keep a flag flying: Don't Tread On Me

And be happy that in the Billings Gazette, the shrub is toast.

11. I am not D-pressed!
But I am disenchanted with the fact that there are so many American's that cannot differentiate between Bu$h*t & Shinola! This seems to be the main sticking point in my psyche. I believe that we have a populace, that is similar to a WWF Event. The main attraction is faking it and this audience is swallowing it whole, as to be the truth!

13. Because we are victims of our own hyperbole.........
Bush "shirked" or was "casual" about his national guard service. He was not "AWOL" and was not a "deserter". There is nothing criminal here, though there is some degree of unadmirability attached to his actions. Failure to satifactorily participate in national guard or reserve drills is handled administratively, not punitively. The individual can be ordered to meet Equivalent Training (ET) to make up the drills missed, the individual may be ordered to active duty for the remaineder of his Guard/Reserve obligation, or he can be tranferred to the inactive reserve and lose his drill pay. In 1972, the Air Force was cyutting back on pilots. They didn't want pilots coming on active duty (read Killian's memo about wanting to give the slot to a pilot coming off active duty) so the threat of active duty was null and void. Bush did perform some ET (his point record shows a satisfactory (though less than stellar "good year". The upshot was that he was transferred to the inactive reserve and served out his total military obligation in that status. He certainly wasn't the kind of officer that i would want to have around, but he wasn't criminal (AWOL, desertion, disobeying direct order).

20. Because more and more it seems the truth doesn't matter.
We have all these facts and no one will report them yet they will report slander and lies as facts for the Pukes. We have to disprove everything against Kerry no matter how ridiculous and prove everything 100% against Bush regardless of all the clear evidence. People believe the shit they sling and no one seems capable of answering for our side without being derided and smeared all to hell. I'm really starting to feel like we won't be allowed to win because we can't get a fair playing field. It's like me playing against Micheal Jordon in basketball but Mike has to wear cinder blocks for shoes. I win because he can't move but everyone says it's fair and I'm a hero. Something to that effect anyway.

I'm never going to give up but I do feel disheartened over this shit. It's so frustrating.

24. I am not depressed
I already think we are heading into a civil war, so I look at every bit of news with the idea that it is the runup to a shootin culture war next.

I am just watching for the big meltdown. And it pisses me off something fierce.
